Trump’s White House released a rough transcript of his call with Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky. It shows Trump asking a foreign country to investigate a man who could challenge him in the 2020 election: Joe Biden. But to understand exactly what Trump wanted Zelensky to do, we have to get into a theory Trump has peddled about Biden.

@@RIFLQ For the record, that did actually happen. Well, they didn't so much 'talk' to him (they didn't know what to say, citizens normally don't get to talk to the president directly). That phone call is normally seen as just a bit of trivia though. I never learned about it until I was an adult. You rarely hear about what happened while they were on the moon. For the most part, it was just them conducting some small experiments, and reporting on how well the astronaut suits worked (one of them told nasa that heat was coming in through the face shield, even though the suit had been designed to protect them from the sun's heat, I believe nasa just recommended that they face away from the sun for the rest of the mission).

favor without offering something in return, it wont be sufficient for a quid pro quo. The key thing here is whether there is a solid evidence that to link withholding funds to ukraine with favor of investigating Biden and Biden son. If there is, then Trump is gone. If not, I dont think he will be impeached...

The law says nothing about quid pro quo, asking and receiving anything of value from a foreign government to help you with your candidacy for a US election is what is illegal, and he most definitely did do that

He never mentions that foreign powers will get something for staying at his hotels, but they know they will. He never mentions that he'll do something for GOP senators if they back him up, but he knows they will. Stop pretending this is so black and white.

@@ampersand08 But when it comes to impeachment process especially when the article comes out to specify what this impeachment is about, you'll need solid evidence to back it up to get him impeached. It is either Trump violated consititional law or not. How come this is not black and white? Same idea when it comes to court, is there a grey area to prove a person guilty? Can you do a 70% guilty 30% innocence? No of cause not, that person is either guilty or innocence. There is no grey area when it comes to law enforcement.

Quid pro quo is just a term. Asking and receiving anything of value from a foreign government to help you with your candidacy for a US election is quid pro quo itself. That's why Dem and Rep they are aruging about it at the moment, if it's not important, why would they argue about this at the first place?

Trump wasn’t just asking for Zelensky to look into Joe Biden, he was asking him to look into the corruption as a whole. Zelensky agreed because he knows how bad corruption in Ukraine is. Hunter Biden was facilitating that corruption and of course should get looked into. Also, Trumps conversations with foreign leaders are not meant to be public. He speaking in confidence with a person. Even legally he doesn’t need to release the transcript, but he did it for the people.

Better yet I'm here after Russia invaded Ukraine. Vox reason for why the prosecutor got fired is laughable. Why would Biden want Hunters boss investigated? He was making 50k a month. If you were making 50k a month at a job were you didn't have to do anything, would you want you're boss to be investigated for something? Or would you just want things to just stay the same?

Watergate is why we don’t have tapes. Presidents have learned from Nixon’s mistake in that instance. Of course Trump already admitted to his misbehavior and then publicly asked China to do the same for favors. Tapes at this point would be superfluous.

It's literally like this for all countries, if you knew what politicians are doing, you'd be disgusted. It's inhumane how anti-christian most of them live, to the point that it would be completely shunned by western values. The only difference in the US of A right now, is that there's a guy who is REAAAALLY loud, to the point of ACTUALLY getting voters to act. And wowee is that often not good.

You can use your wide range of vocabulary but what people will always remember are words like “very”, “great”, “best”. That is also why he phrases his sentences so weirdly. People also tend to remember the last thing u say more than what u say at the middle. So he always ends his points on a strong note. “We will make America great again” Idk where I saw it from. I feel like the Senate vote to remove should be done anonymously (i.e. a senator can vote to remove him but not have his vote being publicly known). This is because many Republican senators deep down don't like Trump at all, but are forced to support him because the people that they were elected by want them to. If senators could vote on this anonymously, then it would create a more honest income instead of a split between parties.

The world has always been at least a little bit of a mess, and it was even messier before. Talking about the future as if imminent doom is inevitable is counter-productive. If you're in America, VOTE. Warren and Sanders both can go a far way reversing the issues in the American government and economy. If they don't win the primaries, vote for whichever Democrat is on the ticket. Do everything to boot out that narcissistic, wannabe dictator and his corrupt cronies. If you're not in America, encourage others to get out and start voting.

Literally, not a single thing you just said is accurate in regard to the United States. The unique thing about the United States is we do have the power to vote. Everyone has a say in who is elected President. If we used the popular vote the only states that would truly have a say would be California. Texas, and Florida, which is why we have the Electoral college. As for your last statement, workers are not "financially bound by debt". They need the money and you acquire money by working. If you do not like your current job you can leave for a better job or you can stick with a company and get promoted. I assume you're not talking about the United States because none of these things apply to the US at all

A little bit of backstory on Hunter Biden. He has been somewhat of an enigma. He’s never quite lived up to being a politician like his dad or his brother (Beau), and has mostly rode the curtails of his father-hence how he got the job at Burisma Holdings, despite having zero experience. And I’m not exaggerating. There’s no reason he should’ve gotten the job other than being him being Joe Biden’s son. If there was ever a tale of privilege - Hunter Biden is the embodiment of it. (That’s not to say some of his accomplishments don’t have any merit to them, but he does comes across as a bit incompetent.) At any rate, there’s some questions about privilege and conflict of interests in certain sectors e.g., government, but Burisma was of the former. And he’s the guy Republicans are centering the corruption around.-A guy who’s essentially been bumbling through life and throwing his dad’s name around to get ahead.

4:36 ...which doesn't even make sense since Shokin was fired in part for not investigating Burisma. How did Vox come to this conclusion? Perhaps in general terms Shokin was not pursuing corruption, but is there proof he was covering for Burisma? He filed an affadavit indicating the investigation was still active and that Porochenko and the US were exerting pressure for him to end it. So why would Shokin be lying in his affadavit?
