I like that you still use a strobe even when it’s overcast and in shade(even lighting). I do too! Sometimes I wonder why, but it’s for consistency. I love brightening the eye and the catchlight.

Thanks for the videos you put out, I enjoy watching them. If you are looking for topics for your videos you might want to do one showing the effects with and without a grid, especially for outside. I known when indoors I use a grid to prevent light spill (to backgrounds and nearby walls) however I have not used them outdoors. Just a suggestion for a video, thanks.

Gorgeous photography Allen. I have z6 ii with 24-70 f4.0 and godox v1. What further I need to purchase to reach anything near to your image quality. Pls donot suggest costly materials.

Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Your camera is solid and the 24-70 is good, however the F4 is limiting if you’re wanting that bokeh and separation of subject and background. I shoot with prime lenses and they are faster lenses. Since you don’t want to spend $2500 on a f1.2 lens, I’d recommend looking at 3rd party lens options like sigma or Tamron. Look for lenses at f1.4, 1.8, and 2.8. Third party will be more budget friendly, but still a decent amount. Maybe look at the used market also! KEH.com or MPB.com are great options for used lenses.

Being consistent to become consistent? This is ridiculous to me. This is too simple. And consistency also means restriction (e.g.to one time of day as your mentioned). Being able to take good photos under any circumstances is (to me) the key to sucess.

Taking good photos in any circumstance is what you strive for. Absolutely. But you don’t get that way unless you shoot consistently. I didn’t say you have to shoot at the same time every day. I said it will help if you’re using natural light, to try and shoot at the same times. People have to learn and grow. Thanks for the comment.
