Fantastic. I had to giggle at the missed peak shot that you pointed out - the trouble with using strobes I guess is nailing that peak. The 20fps electronic shutter nails then everytime if you go natural light or continuous light.
@J.Allen_Photography2 күн бұрын
For sure! Nailing the peak with 20fps is fairly accurate. But popping a strobe…that’s where the timing really comes in.

Alexa always gets me with that smile. TOO CUTE🥰! Jason, are you using an ND when you shoot with flash?

Not for these. I recently have begun using an ND from Freewell. I have a video with Sara showing my results. I don’t use it all the time, but I’m getting more comfortable with it!

@J.Allen_Photography8 күн бұрын
So I can post the flash power, but it’s not really relevant. Let me explain. If you aren’t using the same flash as me, the same distance, the same diffusion, the same ambient lighting, the same camera and lens, it won’t be the same.
@BiswaRanjanNanda8 күн бұрын
@@J.Allen_Photography Thanks for reply Allen, Big fan of your work and 5 min portrait videos. I thought that info would give us an idea and to gauge or scale the light power based on anyones requirements.

@@BiswaRanjanNanda it’s a good question. I get it often. But it just slows me down while editing and I never remember in the first place. Place it won’t add value in the way you need. So I don’t.

Great video, I used it to get the back off my R5 - the eyepiece glass cracked and I needed to replace it. I see others who have had this issue. I am very holy over my kit and like others have no idea how the glass got cracked - it mysteriously happened.... on its own. This Video gave enough information and the pace was great. Best regards & thanks ( got a new glass from Ali Express - Original)

Of all your great shoots so far this is the best. The girls are astounding and what a great concept. And the lighting is spot on, the overhead light really lifts the images. The resulting photos are beautiful. I would have liked to have seen one or two switched to black and white though just to have seen the effect. But a big thumb's up to everyone involved.

I watch all your KZfaq videos and follow you on Instagram. You are an inspiration. Thanks for all you do. KZfaq Music for podcasts is where I draw the line. I listen to podcasts on the go and KZfaq Music is a horrible platform for podcasts. I ditched today after giving it a try for way too long. Done. Deleted the app. If you can get your podcast on Stitcher I'll give you a follow there.

Jason! Amazing photos. Great use of the diffuser and the AD200. I thought the diffuser will get you hard shadows having the flash so far from the model but it didn't. This is valuable knowledge to me. Thank you.
@jasonbodden881615 күн бұрын
The diffuser spreads the light out. Shooting without the diffuser would have produced harder, deeper shadows. As light passes through any sort of diffusion, it scatters at wider angles than if it was undiffused.
