As you say it should be part of the headset, not an additional cost. It should have also been part of the first release. This isn't rocket science, or 'innovation', it's a company deliberately drip feeding enhancements to get consumers to spend more money.

In fact, when I tried the last generation Pimax headset, I even didn't aware the requirment about the topstrap, just compromise because its nice clarity. I'm glad to see that with healthy competition, Pimax awared these points and really optimize it. Of course, as a customer, I hope they can do this right from the start, but at the same time I also know one thing that the whole VR (PC VR) industry is still in the early adopter stage.

With the top headstrap it doesn't move side to side when you move slightly and it is 3 times more comfortable in every way. I haven't used mine in months because of these issues until I bought the top head strap on Newegg because it was sold out if you want to buy it separately.

Thanks for the video. I do have the game, but have not gotten the nerve to try and fly a plane. I may take you up on learning this game. I know a little bit about flying from being in the Air Force as a crew chief on a C-130, but that is about it. I don't know the sequence of steps to getting an airplane stated up, taxi the plane, get off the ground, and landing, etc. Note: I do mainly SIM racing games and also in VR. I have a Quest 3 VR headset. And thanks for all your info on using PIMAX products. Thanks for the video and take care.

I'm not sure if this will help but on the takeoff roll try lifting the tail to a level flight attitude before initiating a climb.

Do you put some rudder trim to help you during the take off?? I know as well that usually the to power it’s low to avoid loosing control!!

Hi OKS, I’m wondering how you find the Crystal with the NLR flight seat, specifically with the headrest. Does the battery pack get in the way when you’re trying to crank to check your 6? Cheers

Isn't the issue with the hand tracker that is works best with USB 3.0 but the Crystal and others don't have 3.0 but are USB 2.0 on the input? Or did they resolve that and it is in fact 3.0 or Leap Motion has worked around that limitation? I look forward to what you discover in using the hand tracker and Crystal.

Excellent demonstration if you are thinking of buying a VR. I am a firm believer in you, get what you pay for. My system is medium to low and would love to fly in VR, but does the crystal take up frame rates? Would you recommend it for my system? This is a KZfaq Platinum, video & and you're the first for that. I got your message & wear it with pride. Thanks, Buddy

as a separate accessory, it has been out of stock since launch. So if you already purchased a Crystal, you are out of luck. They are using what they have in stock to sell new units; a slap in the face to existing customers. As a side note, I ordered two of the 15 mm face pads from the Pimax website 2 months ago and it is still processing, even though they said was in stock. I've never had much faith in Pimax customer care and retention dept. Their sales / marketing dept is in full swing though.

Have you got the auto rudder and take off assistance enabled in your DCS settings special tab? It's better to have those off. Actually, forget that. I think i was watching your take off in MSFS?

This is still only available to those purchasing a new headset. They do not have this on their website as an accessory for purchase to those of us who already own the Crystal.

Got my headset today and guess what no top strap. Its supposed to be a voucher code. And guess what they forgot to send the voucher too. Contacting pimax now but FYI even though the site has them out of stock newegg has them in stock if your willing to pay 4o bucks instead or using the voucher for the strap. Been having issues with pimax as they marked the headset shipped a week ago and never sent it and had to contact them multiple times mentioning their amazon store can ship it to me next day and yet they had a week and never sent it, so they sent it buy their amazon store and now I have the voucher issue. I just went ahead and got the Apache head strap kit with weights and then ordered the strap from newegg as likely they wont get me one.

Yes but not very well... however, I would recommend looking at VRWave lenses. They make prescription lenses that replace the default. Really fantastic way to go

@@OverkillSimulations I had single vision glasses made with a 1meter focal distance and it’s great. I wear progressives so single vision was key I tried the lense inserts but I had to put on glasses anyway when took off the headset

I purchased the VR ROCK lenses and they’re garbage. Terrible distortion in the Crystal. VR Wave is out of stock and they said they don’t know when it’ll be back! I just ordered Crystal lenses from HONSVR, hopefully they’ll be of better quality (they have a warranty)! Fyi… Pimax is out of stock on the headstrap! 😢

I would think about purchasing the thicker face cushion. I found that the original cushion and my prescription glasses were too close and did rub. I have found that the thicker face cushion provides a good gap between the two. I'd also add that to get around the problem prior to getting the thicker face cushion, I bought a cheap pair of reading glasses. It had a thinner frame so fitted OK. I also found that if you have bifocals like I have, the reading glasses gave a better visual experience as it focuses only on the reading part, not the distance (I think). If you can see and read the monitor OK then its a good chance the glasses will work in the Pimax Crystal

WARNING: I just purchased the PIMAX CRYSTAL with the included TOP STRAP. I decided to purchase this headset with this TOP STRAP BECAUSE OF THIS VIDEO! Pimax did not ship me the TOP STRAP and Pimax is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO WORK WITH when it comes to issue. Beware of this company and the way they conduct business!

Yeah I haven't seen anyone run DCS or MSFS yet. How does it look? Haven't seen anyone playing any games actually? I'm sure the onboard graphics will be great running at 3600by3100. Lol😂Apple.
