Thanks General Isama. The Geo intelligence of Nigerian Army of your days was a strong weapon that had aided your military tactics. It is apity that while the whole world is improving their geo intelligence in Web map technology. Geography education is dying in Nigeria. In Europe and US almost every citizen especially the young ones are versatile with geo intelligence through Google Techonology.

"Brigadier General Godwin Isama-Alabi's book: The Tragedy of Victory: On-The-Spot Account of The Nigeria-Biafra War In The Atlantic Theatre..describes Obasanjo as "clueless", "coward"; a commander whose incompetence led to the loss of 1,400 Nigerian soldiers on his first day as the reluctant commander of the 3rd Marine Commando at the Owerri front. The author sensationally disclosed that Obasanjo once got shot in the buttocks while running away from the battlefield near Port-harcourt. Observes Isama-Alabi: "A general will be shot in the chest, not on the buttocks." ------- Ochereome Nnanna Vanguard News Friday February 19, 2015.

In Nigeria, British colonial governor, James Robertson replicated the volatile dichotomy he instituted in Sudan that ignited and sustained the conflict for 50 years. Nigeria’s similarly perpetuated intermittent conflict as gruesome genocide has endured for 62 years costing millions of lives….. “You ‘ll find that Sudan is in trouble now, because the North was made to dominate the South and the South refused. That’s same thing that happened in this country.” -------- Benjamin Adekunle Daily Sun News Friday June 2, 2006.

Whatever system we as Nigerians choose, it will always be short-circuited by our own apathy towards holding each other accountable.

“But the British had already given the whole of the country to the northerners to dominate forces, they only gave them the army, they gave them also the gumption to say that their population was more, that they were the richest and so they dominate the whole of the country.” ----- Benjamin Adekunle Daily Sun Friday June 2, 2006.

“Previously, the Division, under Col. Benjamin Adekunle, had been battered by Biafra’s 14th infantry Division under Col. Ogbogu Kalu, which decapitated the Division, trapped a brigade of it in Owerri, before destroying it at Avu.” ---------------- New York Times January 11, 1970.

It shall be well with you brother They fought market women instead of men . If not Russia and Britain , Biafra would have sandwiched Nigerian military within months of that war.

Nigerians must, and I repeat, must face the question: Who and what caused the civil war? Why evade that?

Nigeria did nothing great. It was the World Powers like Britain and Russia that won that war. It makes no sense bragging over a war Biafrans fought with World Powers using 300 ethnic groups in Nigeria and 5 African allies over 3 years. Who was right and who was wrong over that war? Nigeria was definitely the offender.

This is a very poor interview. General Alabi was good. But the interviewer was very poor. He was trying to demonstrate his own knowledge rather than asking questions and letting the man talk. He is just a poor , proud interviewer

"The fall of their capital would have been a greater psychological blow to the Biafrans had their troops not closed the ring on a garrison of twenty-five hundred (2,500) federal troops in the South-West City of Owerri, destroying the Nigerian force and recapturing the city which had been lost seven months earlier." --- Dan Jacobs in pages 172 - 173 of his book, "Brutality of Nations" published 1987.

@MrLeheed
@MrLeheed 3 жыл бұрын
Why the contradiction? Your name is Olatunji Awofeso, it is the same as Mr Awofeso, isn't it? There fore he can be called Brig Adekunle or Gen Adekunle or Brig-Gen Adekule. In the military, the title Gen is allowed to be used from the rank of a Brigadir. So, he was right by sayin Brig Adekunle.

"Census is a big joke...if you want to go from one village to the other in the North, you can go from one village to the other in the North, you can go miles without seeing anybody...Agriculture does n't go with them, so how then did they get the population, the money that they say they are contributing more to the revenue of this country. It's the same lie that has been told to the Rivers people, that we are going to save you from the "headache", from the "oppression" of the East, come along." ------- Benjamin Adekunle Daily Sun Newspapers Friday June 2, 2006.
