Hi guys and thanks for stopping by! My name is Melissa and I have been a police officer for 13 years. I am currently a lieutenant in a large metropolitan police department and there are surely some things that will help you out in the police application process. In this video, I explain some critical elements in the hiring process. So if you are interested in becoming a police officer, I hope you take the time to consider this information. Some qualifications include: being a United States citizen or possessing naturalization documentation, being at least 20 years old, having a valid driver's license, having a high school diploma or GED certificate, possessing an honorable or uncategorized discharge from a military branch, successful completion of a cognitive skills examination and personality assessment, visual ability of 20/20 with or without vision corrections, and passing a medical and psychological examination.
