Regarding the impact of the kiss, Penelope had never kissed anyone before, while Colin had extensive experience. For her, it was wish fulfillment, but she had nothing to measure it against. For Colin, it was likely the fulfillment of a hope he hadn't realized he'd been holding out for in his aimless life-- a deep and true connection, one that offered passion, as well as sentiment. It was clear that the kiss lit a light within Colin.

oh absolutely! i loved seeing Penelope in that scene, i really felt for her. And Colin's little lightbulb...i said sir have you now woken up? hahaha!

Honestly, whenever they stick close to the source material, it lands! Kiss was straight from the book. It's angsty and humorous (because you would already be dead lol) and then romantic and surprising. Perfect.

It is true, they hit all the emotions. I also liked that it was very different to the other leads in the shows. It was cute, like two friends kissing for the first time. Very wonderfully done💜

The way I could read "everything he thought he'd known about kissing was rubbish" in his facial expression!!! It gives me life! I sincerely hope that they stick to the book for his "I love you with my past and I love you for my future speech" cause it gives all the friends to lovers feels! Rereading the books (especially adding Luke's face to the story) really improved the book for me. I also understand him knowing she loved him, but not acknowledging it better. The fear of hurting a woman you care about so deeply when you don't have your ssssht figured out.

Don't remember if you read their story, this scene was in the book. The kiss was not in the garden, but in the Featherington house. Also the scene in the study, where he cuts his hand, happens in the book. Hope they put more focus on his journals/writings. They are beautiful written travel descriptions, not a kind of erotica as in the show. Although i found they could have fleshed out Pen and Colin more (and less side stories), I have loved it so far. The kiss scene was so sensual, romantic and heart-touching. 💗

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks there's too much unnecessary side stories (Mondrich family). I felt the same last season too. Focus more on the main couple,please! 🙄

idk if you noticed because it was so quiet (i didnt know until i looked it up) but when Pen is talking to Lord Remington (the one who loves gossip) and Colin was looking at them, an orchestra version of Jealous by Nick Jonas was playing in the background

girl. i did notice!! But I was like wait thats it?! I wanted a whole moment where I could actually hear it and see Colin PINNNNNNNING for Penelope. That is was I envisioned, when I first read the list of songs that were gonna be on the show.

The different hair styles are because they had to go back and do reshoots - Luke’s hair was too short, so he is wearing a wig when it is more slicked back. His own hair is the beautiful curls that you want to just run your hands through.

I agree with you, eps 3 & 4 are where things get real interesting! End of ep 2 was basically the start of Colin realizing maybe what he unknowingly wanted. That kiss is definitely gonna live in his head rent free! :)))

it was such a wonderful scene...absolutely loved it. It was so different than all of the kisses we've seen with our other leads, so I thought it was super cute.

I REALLY DO TOO. I think they robbed us of time. There was not one episode that was over an hour. I remember s1 and s2 some episode were like 1 hour in 10 minutes. these all clocked at like 56 maybe.

Yes! Your reaction to the first kiss! It was heart-breaking and courageous all at once. It was her only chance (she thought) of being kissed but in the moment at rock-bottom, she decided to ask for a kiss/take ownership of her first kiss. Some people were mad saying she was begging but I didn't see it that way. It was a heartfelt REQUEST to a TRUSTED friend. Imagine the scandal if she had asked anyone but someone she trusted like Colin? Never. I know you didn't like the Featheringtons but they were my favorite subplot in Part 1. LOL. "Inserts himself? Inserts himself where?" is now ICONIC on the instagram fandom. BAHAHAHAHA! Sadly, I was bored by the Mondriches and Benedict subplots. Loved their characters, just not reeled in by the subplots.

When Colin says his travels let him move beyond people's assumptions and expectations and truly be himself--that was exactly what Whistledown did for Penelope, before it turned more chaotic and toxic. I think that might count for a lot as we see more of the push and pull arguments between them when he finds out who is behind LW! Pen has had her worst moments in her gossip sheets, but she has never spared herself either and DID also do impressive/good things with it. (Even in the first episode of this season her Whistledown writings are highlighting the good characters/achievements of some of the young ladies who might otherwise not be much noticed, and I love that.)

I do agree that whistledown isn’t always necessarily bad…but I guess when you know someone directly involved it makes it worse especially for Colin. Who was gonna marry marina and then his sister was called out even though she was trying to protect her….its gonna be an interesting 2nd part of the season.

In season 3 episode 3 when Penelope and Colin are talking and Lord Debling interrupts them and Penn looks back at Colin . Do Colin whispers I love you to Penelope

@@thewatchaholic totally understand that you're busy. I believe I put it the very first time when I watched it because I was like holy s*** did he whisper I love you. I have looked at that for about 15 more times and I believe he really did whisper it. This is my favorite season so far. I know everybody loves the carriage scene but my favorite part is Colin watching Penelope dance. It's just something about his face expression I want a man to look at me like that So thank you for your time. Thank you for responding. I'll be catching up with your videos all day. I feel that I learned more about the other characters than Penelope and Colin. I really did enjoy the update about the other characters but the episodes were missing a central focus.

So far I will say, I wanted more of Colin. I wanted to spend more time in his mind really trying to figure out his feelings. In my next episode, I do touch on my feelings of the other plot lines.

Yea for sure! I also think there is a reshot as well in the first scene when he is talking to all the ladies in the square. Like some shots his hair is long and then in another his hair is short like at at the market. the inconsistency was driving me insane! Haha
