Yeah like he’s portraying GenZ as if we’re GenAlpha and have no idea about old technology, it’s like those high school shows from 2015 were like “oh modern teenagers don’t know where cassette tape is. what’s a CD? is this like an earring? what are wired headphones?” it’s so fucking dumb like we had this shit too, don’t think just cause you’re 10 years older than us that means that we didn’t have a lot of the same technology, technology did not change the fact that fast

And even if we didn’t personally own these, they still are VERY present in media. I may have never used a walkman in person, but I’ve heard people talk about it, I’ve seen it used in fiction, I’ve looked it up because I was curious. You’d have to live in an actual cave, cut off from society to not know what a walkman is.

It was those chunky (often yellow with black rubber and a pressure clip) "weather resistant" ones that didn't fit anywhere except a backpack. Only good thing about those was the bump protection, so they would keep playing (mostly without skipping) even when jostled, shaken or dropped (from short distances)

I grew up with my own Walkman cassette player and was SO disappointed when I finally got my first Discman... damn thing couldn't go a hot minute without a skip. >.< Also grew up listening to my parent's records and 8-tracks, there's just something special about those. Discman. Because I'm old and forgetful. XD

The best way to make your cd not to skip is buying a dvd player or xbox playstation console It's the perfect way so your disc does not skip

It fit in my pocket but that only worked after they made permanent anti-skip in like 2000. I listened to "40oz to Freedom" on repeat after that. It did fit in a hoodie but it was b4 cheap bluetooth earbuds

I remember early CD players had the setting that was supposed to make it more difficult for the CD to skip if it gets jostled, but I also remember that setting for some reason drained the battery so quickly.

As a gen Z, this hurts my soul. I grew up on CDs. Up until I was ten, when I received a Ipod, CDs were all I had. I'm literally only 16. On the other hand, some of the kids I used to babysit (who are from Gen Alpha), didn't even know what a CD player is. Not really their fault, since that's just how they were raised, but it still stunned me.
