The spelling actually varies. In Astonishing Thor it’s “Godblast”, in Cates’ Thor it’s “God-Blast”, and in Marvel’s Avengers it’s “God Blast”.

@@ThorTalk I always thought that was a Godblast he hit Glory with. He rarely calls it by name (as you pointed out).

@@speccollector9740 I'm pretty sure he absorbed Glory's attack and then redirected it which killed Glory but caused Thor to change into Donald Blake.

Thor fanboys always love to add, "great this is why Thor is better than superman" & are always wrong lol. At this point I'm convinced no of em have ever read more then 1 superman comic lol Also yes Thor can beat Superman depends upon which versions you use, but this attack doesn't change the discussion.

Did we watch the same video? Base Thor defeated a celestial who is leagues more powerful than a group of Celestials who absolutely destroyed 6 skyfathers combined and amped by the souls of Asgard and the Destroyer armour. Thor also later absorbs the God Bomb which would have killed every God in the past and present throughout the multiverse. In the Rune King Thor storyline, he destroys the thread of fate and 6 "Gods of the Gods" comparable to Beyonders are unable to stop him.

And he does have all you mentioned. He has a degree of control over the Earth, he's performed feats in base that even Odin with the Odin force has proved incapable of and he once drove back and severely weakened the Phoenix force. And the Phoenix force retcon is fairly recent so we haven't seen too many ramifications of that.

It seems that people other than Thor can perform something similar to the Godblast. I briefly mentioned that Thor was the main contributor in a combined Godblast that held back the collapse of the multiverse. The other three involved in that combined Godblast were Eric Masterson with his enchanted mace, Beta Ray Bill with Stormbreaker, and Dargo Ktor with his alternate timeline Mjölnir. Through Thor’s instructions, they were all able to “become one with their hammers supreme”. However while Thor was able to teach them how to use it, they likely can’t achieve the same level of power since their life forces are not godly like Thor’s. So in a sense it wouldn’t really be a Godblast since no godly life force is involved, but a normal person with a suitable equivalent to Mjölnir can be taught to merge their life force with their hammer to create a devastating blast.

The game at 0:36 is Marvel Heroes. It was the first depiction of the Godblast outside of the comics, but the game was shut down a few years ago. The game at 0:45 is Marvel’s Avengers. It’s the latest big Marvel game and also features the Godblast. Support for it is going to be shutdown this year, but unlike Marvel Heroes, it can still be played even after the support ends. It’s a bit of a mess, but I’ve enjoyed it well enough. The comic at 4:29 is Astonishing Thor #4.

That would have been great as ultimate move. It’s been so long since we’ve gotten a good Marvel fighting game, but whenever we get one, I’d like to see it in the game
