Professor, you hit the nail on the head the entire video, but EVERYTHING hinges on the point you made at 2:30. People simply DO NOT want to slow down. In the community we like to make a big show of "leaving our ego at the door", but how much of our value do we derive from the percentage of submissions we get or lose? I've been around long enough to see the pattern emerge. The folks that are constantly getting injured, beating themselves up over not progressing, and living a life of frustration on the mats are the ones that always come in hot and can't seem to calm their brains enough to put the brakes on. Conversely, the guys and gals that figure out how to relax early on always seem to be the ones putting the information in and making noticeable strides. Easiest thing in the world to do, but the absolute LAST thing most people seem to be interested in actually doing.
