There is no 15 seconds to pack your stuff up, most kids pack up 5 minutes before class ends. And they were walking at a regular pace, which is the same pace youd walk in a crowded hallway. And its pretty fucking obvious he doesnt use his locker, it was a lie. No one uses their lockers, especially if you carry a backpack around anyway. Lockers are only useful for sports, or to keep your stuff in during extracurricular/club activity at the end of the day. Stop using these bs excuses

I feel bad for the three minute thing(my school had 4 minutes) but if you know how far away your class is, move a little faster. In 9th grade all of my classes were in opposite buildings of each other, and I had to navigate through 2 extremely congested hallways(at one point the traffic got so bad no one was even moving). Was still never late to class because I didnt drag my feet across the floor. The only time I was ever late(without a pass from my previous teacher to finish an assignment) was one the first day because me or my friend didnt know how to get to the second building to reach our third period(the hallways were made in a way that if you come from all but one angle, you wont even see the exit).

@gchsbus4 жыл бұрын
My high school it was 4 minutes. However, the principal I had at the time worked very closely with the teachers and staff in regards to scheduling so that lateness wouldn't happen. They weren't allowed to schedule students where the one class was on one end of the school while the next was at another. If a student was late several times, the principal would get with teachers and ask them to stand in the hallway and observe the student and see if they are moving along or dilly dallying. In the cases where the schedule didn't work and wasn't the fault of the student, the principal would make the administration change it. This was back before schools had cameras, which was great. Which I don't agree with but thats another story.

I like that the principal showed by example that it is possible to get from one end of the school to another in 5 minutes, even while using the bathroom. However, there are a couple potential flaws in this demo. One is that it doesn’t take into account time spent to gather supplies from your locker. Of course, if your classes are that far apart, odds are that you’ll pass by your locker at some point, and it shouldn’t take that long. But with traffic in the halls, you might not get to your locker right away. It can be tough to walk at a decent pace if the traffic is shoulder to shoulder. Plus, there is the possibility that there could be a line in the bathroom (especially for the girls), and you don’t have time to wait in line, and you probably don’t have time to find another bathroom (even if you did, that one could have a line as well). And if you have a teacher that doesn’t allow students leave class to go to the locker, bathroom, or water fountain, this bathroom line could be a problem. If this was a girl, I could see being a minute or two late to class because of a bathroom line. But since this is a boy, and he was 40 minutes late to class (not just one or two minutes), there is no excuse for that kind of behavior. That’s flat out “cutting class”. For the situation at hand, I would say that over a period of time, you learn the most direct route from one class to another and your campus, and plan your locker stops accordingly. But the bathroom visits is harder to predict, because you don’t know when you need to go, what business you need to do, or how long the line will be. You can try to take steps to avoid that situation, such as using the bathroom before school, at lunch, or after school. That would make it less likely that you’d have to visit the restroom at other times, but it’s no guarantee. The reality is that when you’ve got to go, you’ve got to go, and not everyone can hold it for very long.

It takes me no more than 2 out of allowed 5 minutes to change classes that involves going all the way across the school

Nobody asked. But, some schools are more bigger/populated than yours. You answer is thus, useless.

to be fair, he wasn't in the hallway when other students were which makes it a lot slower. He also didn't have to wait for the bathroom and go to his locker.

damn, at least they have 5 minutes between classes. we have 3 which is bullshit beacuse we have three floors and if they expect me to make it from the bottom floor to the top in less than three minutes (especially with these slow ass, goofing around people) then they're mistaken.

I have to get to class in 3 minutes. In my school we have 2 stories and a basement. 2 Grades in one story and the other 2 in the other story. We, for some reason, had a big blow up of new kids in my grade and I and 79 other kids got pushed up into the grade below us wing. I have to run up from the basement and get my books after gym because they don’t let us bring our books down, then go down one more floor and go all the way in the back. Plus kids don’t know how to act and are very slow so I get held up a good minute. So for everyone who says 5 minutes isn’t enough it is and 3 minutes is all you probably need but it’s very hard to work with.

I contest that hallway was clear no one around. Try to get to your class with a school with multiple floors and thousands of people in your way. Plus if you gotta get to your locker or use the washroom with tones of people trying to do the same thing as you. I don’t think 5 minutes is long enough it’s long but sometimes it’s not.
