I know this was made for jokes, but to clarify: manga isn't supposed to be a storyboard for an anime, anime is supposed to be a different way to experience the manga. Voice acting, musical themes and battle scenes are things that the anime has an advantage over manga, no doubt, and it can use those elements to make a scene better than it originally was, but ironically, manga's freatest asset is something that an animation can't orr shouldn't rely on: stillnes. Because it doesn't have to create a fluid animation, an effort that recquires time and a lot of people, it can focus more on making each part of the page a painting on its own, sometimes with a lot more quality than most animation studios can hope for, not to mention it's a lot easier and less pace consuming to put texts in a page than to put dialogues, monologues and narrations in an episode that has to abide to a more limited or recquired runtime. Neither is inherently better than the other, they both have strengths and weaknesses that work in tandem to give as complete of an experience as possible.

Manga is the author writing and drawing what they want to, with really only their editors changing stuff, not an entire production team and studio.

normally i agree but manga is not a storyboard a manga is not a script it is the original form of media that the series is published in (a comic format) if u dont read that then so be it 🤷‍♂️ its your choice whether or not to read the ORIGINAL content - plus anything that happens in the anime not in the manga is usually not canon to the actual series unless stated otherwise by the creator

I feel the sentiment, but the main release isn’t the script, it’s the work itself, Harry Potter and Percy Jackson were successful books long before the script for their movie counterparts were written; straight to anime shows are good sometimes like Delicious in Dungeon, but most of the time it’s an anime-adaptation

Anime watcher and I have to disagree, the manga is not the script. It’s the main event. The PROBLEM is the annoying manga readers ( not all of ‘em) spoiling tf out of everyone. Plastering panels all over twitter and spoiler shots in KZfaq thumbnails etc. it’s such a shame and feels demoralizing seeing a special moment lose some of its impact BECAUSE people wanna be annoying and be like “ha I saw it first” They were able to enjoy that special moment and enjoy the full impact of that event, so appreciation for it goes through the roof. It makes me wonder why they wouldn’t want anime watchers to feel the same way My best advice for anime watchers is to watch the anime at your own pace and AVOID all comments mentioning anything one piece related etc until your caught up. That includes any social media posts about certain characters or opinions It sucks because when something awesome happens, you wanna talk about it with your friends and go online and see what everybody else thinks I was lucky enough to witness the Masterpieces that they are (Kaiji and Akagi) without getting spoiled so the impact of certain scenes was intense I could say the same for naruto, damn near a masterpiece for what it is as a whole, but it def did have a few flaws Regardless it’s impact was heavily felt and appreciated

Tbh the solution is just for people to put spoiler warnings when talking about new chapters until the corresponding anime episode premieres.

Meanwhile those of us that are still catching up don’t have this problem. 😂

All my friends are One Piece stans. Them telling me that I would love Robin and Chopper is what got me through the rougher parts. Post Alabasta this has been less of a problem
