I dont think its people trying to justify it but more as understanding why she is the way she is. Look at kreese. He was an all around good guy prior to the military. He even had a serious relationship with betsy. Once the captain got his hooks into him and the incident at the pow camp, it really affected kreese in a major way. Its less trying to justify either of thier actions and more just understanding why they are the way they are.

Ok, I actually have a theory on S4 and how it should end: Cobra Kai creates a plan that can make the new Miyagi-Do/Eagle Fang dojo become weaker and send pain to Daniel and Johnny. One of these plans has the Cobra Kai students attack the strongest competitors, in order to make Daniel and Johnny look weaker. Their way of sending a message as well. One of their students, probably Chris, Mitch, or if we go the big angle, Eli/Hawk gets severely injured and can't compete. Tory was the one who did it. But after injuring one of these guys, she gets caught by the cops, is arrested, and Tory is banned from the competition. Sam and the others visits the student at the hospital and while there, she runs into a sick lady that happens to be next door, and has a little chat, and then leaves. It turns out that the lady was Tory's mom. She needed more treatment so she was immediately rush to the hospital and is going to have operation. Sam doesn't learn about this until later. NOW, if we're going to throw in the other theory that either Kreese, Terry Silver, or Mike Barnes is related to Tory, now that will be a turn for Tory (if Silver or Barnes returns in S4). Because how would Tory feel that the one person, that wasn't there when her mom needs help, turns out to be her teacher or one of his own? This is where a moment comes when maybe Sam, Miguel, or someone tells her, "How do you think your mother would feel, seeing what you've become?". This has Tory think for a while. Then one evening, Tory decides to explore her mother's story and soon goes down this whole rabbit hole of the truth that Kreese, Silver or Barnes are related to her learns that they left her and her mom with nothing. She now learns what a total lie Cobra Kai really is and that's when she changes her views about herself and Kreese (Oh, and if we want to go a darker angle, Tory's mom dies and we can get a killer performance from Peyton List, first with tears then driven to rage). So the tournament arrives and Daniel and Johnny's team are in deep with Cobra Kai, and in the finals, it's Miguel vs Robby and either it's the winning point round or Robby does beat Miguel and Cobra Kai wins and as the group claims the trophy and when given the microphone and asked if they have something to say, this happen : The lights go off, except for the one in the ring. Then Tory walks onto the ring and holds out a microphone and says, "Yes, let's all cheer for Cobra Kai, WHO DESERVES TO DIE!!!! (Basically playing with the phrase "Cobra Kai Never Dies"). Tory attacks Kreese, Silver, or Barnes. And Miguel and Robby try to stop her but it agitates a bigger fight which leads to Johnny and Daniel's team attacking the other Cobra Kais, and to add more to the action, other dojos at the competition get involved. It's a literal riotous frenzy. And Tory is literally doing whatever it takes to overpower Kreese, Silver or Barnes. She gets the upper hand and puts one of them in a chokehold, ready to break their neck. Now here comes the hard part, because I don't know whether I would have Tory kill one of them, or to have Tory see what she's become and then she lets them go, because what would happen then? @@osmanyousif7849 Ok so the story is a huge reach but it's your own thoughts so it's ok. However one small thing that I would like to add. Breaking a person's neck is really really reaaaally hard. Despite what you see in the movies, breaking a neck requires a huge amount of strength and it's harder the bigger or thicker a person's neck is. Tory being much younger than any of these 3 would in no way capable of breaking someone neck let alone, Kreese, Barners or Silver all three being quite big men. And to drive that home even harder, the only possibly snappable neck in the series is Johnny (who is probably of the most muscular characters in the series) breaking Eli's neck (who has probably the thinnest neck from the show) That's the power difference that needs to happen for someone to break a neck

@@osmanyousif7849 Yeah I don't think Tory is strong enough fighter to challenge Mike Barnes or Johnny type fighters she is a good match for any of the kids even Miguel would have a problem with her now they have trained he knows her and she knows him. The key is can Miguel reach Tory again like before they were good together no one can say they were not; They trained together they fought together against others its clear they protected each other. Miguel is the key to Tory redemption.

Exactly Julie and Tory have identical backstories both started out as the angry, distrustful, troubled teen girl mad at the whole world over a bad situation she has no control over, along with being the outsider bullied at school by rich kids making things worse. But where their paths differed was how learning karate affected their future Julie learned from her sworn grandfather Mr. Miyagi that it was okay to feel angry at seemingly the whole world over what she believes her parents' unfair, and undeserved death in that car accident but it wasn't okay to give into said anger and become a hate-fueled monster, where as Kreese did not teach Tory any self-control he taught her the world sees you as a monster then become the monster and destroy the world.

I do agree that Sam has the right to suspect her, it's common sense. If anybody would've been in that situation, I think majority of us would act like that because it makes sense. But it doesn't justify everything that happened there because she still acted based on an assumption. There were other alternative ways to confront Tory. (In reality though, I wouldn't really see someone confronting a 'thief' peacefully, because literally, why? It would prolly be a fight like pulling of her and pushing everybody but they know karate so that escalated to a whole new level.) I also agree that Sam doesn't cause all the problems in the show, as much as all of it could be correlated to her. She has her fair share of mistakes and poor decisions, but she's definitely not the only one. I wouldn't describe Tory as an overall evil person though. As much as she literally can go to jail because she's committed crimes, she also clearly mentally unstable so she really needs to act on that. We see that in Season 4, but sadly Sam is on her way for revenge. Ughhh, I HATE and love the drama. XD Stay safe, by the way!

I'd have to agree, it's unrealistic that she'd be related to anyone we already know, that majorly happens in small towns. In a place like Los Angeles it'd be close to impossible to encounter people directly related to people you know.

You mean that moment where she deliberately centers herself and finds her balance? It's not that Sam is focused. Tory is entirely focused on beating Sam, and that focus doesn't help her because the focus isn't where it NEEDS to be (the task of the moment). Balance is the ability to recognize WHEN your focus is not where it should be, and put it in its place so that you can function. That's continually Tory's problem. Her focus is almost always on something outside of herself that she drives herself towards singlemindedly, and it almost always leads to her overextending herself, going too far, and making herself vulnerable because she doesn't know how to pull back. Sam, on the other hand, has a strong center and was raised to operate out of that central pillar... which means her danger is less in overextending herself and more in withdrawing and FAILING to extend herself when opportunities present themselves (such as when she quits karate out of fear following Tory's attack).

It seems Kreese has even had an arc for season 4. It really seems like he just wants what is best for Tory. From what it seems to me it's like he's trying to not make the same mistake with Tory with what he did with Johnny. He wants her to be strong and overcome her obstacles but he wants her to do it her way instead of brainwashing someone to do things his way.

I agree. And to be honest, that issue with Tory is present in everyone who stayed in Cobra Kai. Their grudge was understandable in the beginning as they were angry at the Miyagi Do for Robby nearly killing Miguel as well as believing that Miguel was also in his condition because he showed mercy to the enemy. But this season they went from misguided kids with understandable motivations to cartoon villains just because. They steal money from the fundraiser and beat up Nathaniel so that they can give it to Miguel themselves in the name of Cobra Kai, even though it was already publicised that Miyagi Do was making the money. They steal toys, tickets and messed with games at the arcade because... bad guys need to bad guy. And to justify Miyagi Do's intervention and prep them up as victims of circumstance. Including stealing the snake, how could they be this petty by their own nature compared to season 2, where the vandalism was an instruction from Kreese when Hawk was actually gonna accept his loss. Miguel's injury is their justification for all the shit they did to Miyagi Do, which extends to from the first episode to the last. But when the actual culprit is seen in their dojo as instructed by Kreese, everyone was like "😐 OK he's our co-leader now." Seriously? How is Hawk the only person who has a problem with this?" To add on, if Tory still cares for Miguel, why is she being immediately all buddy-buddy with Robby? If Tory doesn't care as much, why is the mention of Miguel and Sam simply working together to save the tournament enough to make her BREAK INTO SAM'S HOUSE to instigate a fight between the dojos just to brutalise her again?! (Though I believe the fight itself was pretty cool) Compared to Johnny and his friends, apart from Dutch, who were influenced by Kreese for 3 to 5 years, these guys, in a span of 4 months at most of his influence, did not become simply bullies: they're psychopathic criminals. With all that they've done, the only realistic way to continue the Cobra Kai POV for season 4 is to put them in juvie recruiting fighters, including Shawn, while Kreese and Silver work to get them out quickly. I apologise for the long rant. I loved season 3, but their characterisation, or the lack thereof, of the Cobra Kai students prevents me from giving this season anything above an 8.

@@dortymakaloni7861 I totally agree. To me the original theme of cobra kai was that there is two sides to every story. In my opinion season 3 kinda disregards that theme. Of course the cobra kais have a good reason to hate miyagi do. But now they have become the generic bully/villain stereotype. We delve into kreeses backstory this season, but that doesnt make him any less a mustache twirling villain. Tory gets her backstory expanded on. But then becomes a full on villain. It contradicts the original theme. That's why I like season 1 the best.

@@KingZuFFG I also liked season 1's demonstration on how both sides can do wrong when pursuing their goals. Daniel raising the rent at the strip mall was a portrayal of even good people making bad impulsive decisions. But by season 3, every reckless action by Miyagi Do always has to be a justified retaliation toward Cobra Kai starting something. And like I mentioned, even though Johnny and his friends had years of the purely Kreese Cobra Kai philosophy compared to 4 months for the new generation, they, except Dutch, never fought unarmed opponents with weapons, condoned cheating (only doing so to not piss of Kreese), steal money, valuables and animals from unauthorised areas, vandalised places, or broke into houses. EDIT side note: I was actually hoping for few of the Cobra Kai students to be kids of the people Daniel put out of business.

For a good part of season 3 she wanted revenge on miyagi do for what they did to miguel. Then she sees robby at that office and finds out they have similar living situations and so what, that makes them cool with each other. I expected her to have hawk's reaction to seeing robby. Because even though hawk and miguel weren't on best terms he still did not like the fact that kreese was letting in someone who hurt his friend. (Another reason I thought he switched sides). But nevertheless I respect your opinion.

They didn't imo. The interaction they had is this, word for word: Miguel: "Look are you sure you want to -" Miguel: "All right. Game on." Miguel: "Close the gap." Miguel: "You're telegraphing." Miguel: "Don't let em see it coming." Tory: "Did you see that coming?" Miguel: "Maybe. The name's Miguel." Tory: "Tory. With a Y." This is the only interaction they had in that episode, as Tory went to the beach with Aisha later on for the rest of the day. Tory doesn't talk to Miguel at all until the next episode, which is where they start to talk outside of class. Tory clearly wasn't ecstatic when she saw that Sam was hi ex. She flashed a forced brief smile when Miguel was talking about the relationship mascot but the immediately grimaced after. The other part of the problem is that there are timeskips that happen often subtly in Cobra Kai, but counting Demitri's change of clothes (when he joins after they get back from the country club), at least 3 days pass (and that's also assuming after Kreese and Johnny teach that the students to to eat at dinner the same day). If this all happened in the same week, Tory still moved fast and really had no intention of getting with Miguel at first, especially when they had one brief interaction. If they did have chemistry, it definitely would've been mentioned in passing through dialogue at that point.

No i have the same thought. Remember how much the death of Betsy hurt Kreese. Maybe this was the start of everything. Here is my thought, like i said only a thought. Since there are so many theories about Barnes being her dad or Julie her mother: I have an other idea (only idea): Tory could indeed be his granddaughter. Remember Kreese s girlfriend Betsy (like Tory ends with an Y) died in a car crash. Maybe she was pregnant from Kreese, but never told him since he had to go to Vietnam. She was pregnant with twin sisters, Tory s mother and aunt. Those two babies were saved in the belly of their death mother, and maybe her mom is disabled because she was cut out of Betsys belly. That landlord even asked Kreese if he was Tory s grandfather or something. It is a mystery why her mother was never shown yet...and Kreese almost saw her when he stood in the door. Kreese indeed seems to see something of himself in Tory...maybe because she is his granddaughter without knowing it. Kreese only cares about three people, Johnny who was like a son for him, Robby because he is Johnny s son, and Tory. And now it seems Tory and Robby are a couple...Kreese would love that i am sure.

Maybe so but unlike Sam who is willing to occasionally admit her faults and try to improve herself Tory doesn't see her actions as wrong and see's the world is against her (when in fact she is partly to blame for her own actions). Same with Robby as he blamed Miguel for "stealing" Sam away from him when in fact him kicking Miguel off the balcony and nearly killing him resulted in Sam dumping Robby for Miguel. I mean what did he expect he nearly killed someone and shows no remorse for it but instead he blames Daniel for causing his arrest when he did it to himself by running away from the police.

@@dragonfire4527 Where does Sam admit her faults? What she does is say she did something, but then says why she did something was because of someone else. She admits to the actions, but still skirts the blame. Robby did have regret, he didn't even want to be part of the fight but he was certain Miguel wouldn't stop because in fact it was MIGUEL who started the fight with him. He blamed Daniel for the arrest because he reported him so yeah that's something Daniel did, but overall Robby got the short straw because he didn't want to fight, he didn't start the fight, and in defending himself Miguel got really hurt. but like Sam, Miguel thought that he was in the right for what he did even if he is the one who started it. Like Sam. That's why they're so much alike. No bad intentions, but not realizing their actions negatively start shit.

Even the breaking into the house (Which is not excusable) it's done because of something Sam does to Tory.

If Tory's reason for not visiting Miguel was feeding her family than she would have said so but no she said that her reason for not visiting was because she didn't know how to help.

If Julie does show up in S4 as the 3rd sensei or the head sensei of a allied dojo I think she'll be instrumental in redeeming Tory, and getting Sam to realize that Tory isn't a lost cause along with getting Sam to fully admit her mistakes from the first 2 seasons. And mostly for a couple of reasons the main one is as stated in this video Julie when she was young basically during the year 1994 she was were Tory is that being the troubled teen girl angry at the whole world, distrustful of everyone, a rebellious troublemaker due to a bad situation that she couldn't control, and the outsider bullied at school by rich kids for no apparent reason. Plus she did learn from Mr. Miyagi the whole lesson of "No bad students only bad teacher." When he told her about him and Daniel's issues with Cobra Kai when she revealed to him that she went to the ROTC teacher and sensei to The Alpha Elite Col. Dugan only to discover he was a asshole himself. So I think Julie revealing to Sam that she was were Tory is right now, will get Sam to realize she may have played a small to medium-sized role in Tory's fall from grace and get her to make the attempt to apologize to Tory over what she did in Seasons 1, and 2. And Julie revealing to Tory that she understands where she is coming from and why she has the attitude she has because she's been there before will help Tory gain redemption.

The girls both made the fair mistakes. I just personally don't see how going after a girl you had one interaction with to make her jealous isn't instigating. The elbow was intentional because she was paranoid that Sam would do the same thing to her that she was doing to Sam - making the other person jealous. As far as not visiting Miguel, I just can't see how she didn't have the time. Kreese freeing up the financial responsibility for her also freed up her time. If she was really that much of a breadwinner, she wouldn't have time for karate at all. Even just ONE day. That is the one thing I will give Sam is that she actually owned up to it and visited Miguel (although Tory did feel some remorse for her actions)
