I think it would be reasonable for Ross to temporary retire Vaughn till its sanity is back. Not all player has to be dead or permanently insane. He can be an NPC for the time being and maybe later when he recovers somewhat can rejoin (if Ross new character is out for some reason). To be honest, I am really interested in Ross playing a completely different character :D

If this were a pulp Cthulhu session, I wouldn't hesitate to create a perk named "The Verdun Veteran's true sight" for Vaughn. He earned it. And I am most delighted by Noura's play when she met Vaughn's mother for the first time. Could be my imagination, but it seemed to me she had to suppress a bout of laughter there while "carefully" breaking the news to his mom in between the lines before she gets direct. 😁 This was a bit like a scene from "4 weddings and a funeral" a bit sad and wildly hilarious.

Basically what we TfC True Believers are trying to say is: This jawn is tight! I want to refrain from hyperbole here, but this one's a banger! Hats off to the crew (again!) as we lowly viewers get to visit the stomping grounds of the inimitable, yet damaged, Mr. Vaughn Villiers. Does Troy need extra-dimensional baddies to establish menace and urgency? No! Do we NEED combat every episode? Nope. Can these badass players find the joy in each and every nugget of interaction or description? Boy-Howdy can they. Like Call of Cthulhu? Time for Chaos is for you. Like good roleplay with an amazing cast? Time for Chaos is for you. Like a freeform yet still structured story with stakes and actual tension? Time for Chaos is for you. Thoughtful perfomances? TfC! A dollop of heartfelt sentiment to go with screwball shenanigans? TfC!

I have been marathoning this series for two weeks trying to get caught up. Every moment has been AMAZING! While the main plot of Masks is interesting, its the characters that keep me invested. Seeing Carter go from a simple con man now trying to redeem and better himself. Vaughn's past with The Great War and Oberon that pops up. Feiruz's relationship with her dad. Absolute some of the best improv and roleplay out there. I almost don't want this campaign to end so I don't mind all the diversions from the main plot.

This is what makes TFC my favorite actual play ever. You have a great story, added to by the evil genius of Troy, played by a great cast with not a single person that I would replace. Troy can turn even a simple thing that the players think they should just skip into something completely dickish, and the cast can take that and turn it into one of my favorite episodes of the entire series.

That cliffhanger is why The Crawling Chaos is my favorite Lovecraftian entity! In a pantheon devoid of discernible personality he stands out. He’s cruel, he’s the unrelenting Indifference! And he has a lot of fun breaking the illusory walls of reality man convinced itself were concrete and safe. “And at the last, from inner Egypt came the strange dark One to whom the fellahs bowed. Silent and lean and cryptically proud, and wrapped in fabrics red as sunset flame. Throngs pressed around, frantic for his command but, leaving could not tell what they had heard; While through the nations spread the awestruck word, That wild beasts followed and licked his hands”

With all of the GCP talking about Magic in their opening banter across multiple shows, I think they should totally play a game of Commander and recored that. Commander being a less competitive and more casual/multiplayer format, it would work perfectly.

My man I was going out of high school when you started playing Magic in high school but when I started playing Magic and but my friend had brought his small collection over and introduced me to 300 piece chess game that it used to be all I could see was the artwork and to this day the artwork has my attention long before card functionality or flavor text is examined. I don't play anymore because it's become a monster and the devastating wallet drainer but if someone wants to go back in time and dive into my collection of decks or collection of cards to build a deck then we'll be playing with cards from unlimited through Fallen Empires.. Maybe visions or farmlands what was the thing that came after falling Empires LOL that's a long long time ago. But even today if somebody will hand me a card and say this is awesome look what this thing can do I spend the next 20 seconds looking only at the artwork and then I let tell me what it can do without bothering to read it.

I did make magic pay for itself. I bought my first few starter decks and when Legends came out I was buying packs as often as I could but I began selling off some of my duplicates and in this way made more money to buy more Magic. So eventually the hobby was paying for itself. That's still very possible to do. But I'm just have no interest in the modern version of the game
