Noura's cat made the perfect cameo "She's medium rare" was SAVAGE I was NOT expecting that hand-off of Desmond to Ross. That is some amazing improv! But with Vaughn basically being unplayable with such low SAN this was a good send-off. Carter taking the photo and putting it in his locket made me tear up. Well done.

Another week, another top shelf clinic by GCN. THIS is how rp-heavy actual plays should be done. Ross, Noura, Kate, and The KerkO'vich bring their A game and our Ol' Pal Troy lets the scenes and exchanges breathe as much as they need without devolving into the self-indulgent navel-gazing that a lesser troupe might fall into. Time for Chaos is JUST. TOO. GOOD.

Oh man, Rob brought the emotional pain this episode! That scene with Vaughn and the picture in particular was beautiful. And seeing Carter processing the news beforehand, near the cemetery, was so damn sad. When the funny, jokes-y character gets real and sad, ya know it's going to hurt.

Great as usual. Ending was chilly but ended up sparking a darker one that I could've sworn you were headed towards instead: "... and as we see her gaze sweep across the property, we see from her perspective when she finally notices Vaughn up and out of bed. We flash back to Vaughn as he pulls his eyes and arm away from Bertrand to wave at his mother. Cutting back to the mother, we see her squint the countryside sun from her eyes as she struggles to see what we see in the camera view: her son... standing next to an unearthly tall shadow [pause] with glowing red eyes [pause] and long black wings. She blinks and no longer sees it, but we'll see you next week." Scared myself more than necessary! Lol thanks for the good work everyone.

While I know it goes against the normal format of the shows on this channel, this is a long term COC campaign, so all the players need to have a chance to make and introduce potential new characters before they need to be shoehorned in. Each player should really have 3 or 4 PCs ready to go; or the group should have a large pool that any of them can pull from. On that note, the 3 NPCs I really want to see put into rotation: Hilton Adams: When the former Harlem Hellfighter manages to snap out of his grief, he should seek out the group for some real answers about what happened. Finding out that there's a world wide conspiracy responsible for his wife's death, he would jump straight into the fight. Yaleesha Essam: The belly dancer out for revenge for the death of her boyfriend. Her background means she should be stated as attractive, lithe, and athletic. The perfect protégé for a con artist/ cat burglar. Gunter: He shouldn't waiting in the wings, he should be on stage as a potential love interest for Margo, and a romantic foil for Carter. Can you imagine the scenes we would get if Ross was playing him?

The ladies are always stunning but these gentlemen are gonna wreck me! Carter's emotional growth and tendre for Margo (finale slow burn mebbe? Mebbe?), the crying in the bushes... And Vaughn talking about that other kind of love between souls and all I could think of was Oberon and 😭. (Also, hope he and Fairuz talk about Oberon at some point.) And last but not least Troy Motherluvin Lavallee with the cinematic reveals that had me gasping all the air out of the room! Bravo friends. Bravo. ❤

We all knew Vaughn wasn’t making it out of book 1. Troy even pointed it out S1 E1. It still hurts but, I’ll know i will grow to love Ross playing Desmond! Fitting that the eldritch being this whole campaign is about would be the one to deal the final blow to Vaughn’s sanity.

I think from a practical point of view Vaughn was generally more of a liability in most every encounter he was in, though he came in clutch during the last one. From a character perspective it makes sense that he doesn't want to put his friends in danger. From a player perspective his sanity was shredded and the lower it is the more likely a permanent mental break would take effect. I think he may have wanted to make a fresh character that would be able to approach things differently than Vaughn had been able to. I am actively listening but assuming he is still alive there is a chance he can return or if not, maybe act as a contact outside the current party if he is able to recover. Regardless Ross looks to be blowing it out of the water with this new character as well. This entire cast is great.

Not to be the Rules Guy in KZfaq, but when a player goes insane, they always suffer a Bout of Madness. When that happens, the Keeper can amend any of that character's backstory elements, and you also roll on Table VII (page 157 of the Keeper Handbook) for the real time Bout of Madness effect. Collaborating with players for what's happening is great and keeps the action going, but when you roll on the table you can gain psychosomatic disabilities, phobias, manias, amnesia, and more, so that's always exciting.

I understand why Vaughn has been benched, but he's coming back right? RIGHT? Once this new guy gets torn apart by something blasphemous and indescribable, then Vaughn will have had enough R&R to be ready for the breach once more. For my own sanity, I have to tell myself it's possible.

I want to take Vaughn to a production of Les Contes d'Hoffmann. Lots of things happen in it. Hoffmann is an alcoholic and retells of how he fell in love with an automaton only to see her destroyed, tried to live happily with another beloved who died following her passion for singing, and lost his reflection to a beautiful woman after killing a man in a duel, among other things. He then reveals all these stories are made up, based on three facets of the same woman, whom he loves and was supposed to meet with, but whom ultimately goes with his rival instead. All he has left is his work. I figure either the catharsis would heal him a bit or the thematic parallels to low points in his own life would shred what's left of his mind. I'd like to see which.

Great as always and after all a new character. I kinda did not expect it before the finale, but probably also the best timing to get a "fresh" one without horror in his eyes. lets see if HE survives the finale though xD I hope that we see things getting towards it next session. I dont think there is much left before they find there way to it. p.s. thx for ads actually! would have totally missed the laundry kickstarter otherwise.

Kudos to Troy/Ross for the decision surrounding Vaughn. It'd make little sense to keep on with a character that mentally breaks everytime trouble hits. The previous fight, when Vaughn yet again became more burden than benefit, did feel a bit like deja vu. Besides, it almost feels cruel sticking with a character that is as tormented as poor Vaughn and constantly subjecting him to the most darkest of moments.
