Here is a small tip: Get a silicone spatula and use it to empty the last bit of epoxy from the cups. Reusable and it gets every drop of the epoxy. ;)

the only drawback to scraping the cup is that you can sometimes get material that is not fully cured

I spent ten yrs., restoring an Alden 41 ft.,C/b cutter,built in 1940. I bought it as a bare hull, steam bent all the frames,replaced all the deck frames. this boat had only an ice box,when i was finished it had all the modern upgrades possible. The boats name was ARROWHEAD #699

I am replacing floors on my old ski boat before I re carpet. Question is after new ply wood and I epoxy it, should I really fiberglass over floors or will epoxy resin be enough.

I’m just starting out and don’t know which size to get for my John boat for the bottom! Would I need to get quart size or the gallon, Wanting to do the bottom and the sides, it’s 12’ L- 4’ wide

What about air bubbles? I know its being compressed by the clamps. but there are alot of air bubbles in the mix. What if you arent compressing a part? I normally would put a heat gun to it. Then again, I never used 1708. Is 1708 good for no air bubbles?

coloring fiberglas.....use oil base paint, < 10%? alkyd paint? other ideas that preserve the strength? Should the first coat of anything on a small wood boat be just plain FG? OR maybe start tinting the FG to the color you want in the final job? THanks

I don't trust pumps, too much wasted epoxy. Electronic Kitchen scales are 15$ and are way more precise.

As long as your ratio is 5:1, the units of measure don't matter.

Should wear an organic vapor respirator when working with epoxy. Especially the woman working with her face over the part. Breathing epoxy fumes is not good
