The proper way to "Zombie" (get the hand to the mat) in Rubber Guard

Here is a small detail to improve the success of most rubber guard players first step along their rubber guard path, "The Zombie". Most are having more difficulty forcing a hand to the mat with a zombie then I think should be the case. This is because instead of attacking at the hand, most will try and dig under the elbow. There are quite a few setups people will use to attempt to loosen the elbow and make it easier to fight for a zombie (crackhead, invisible collar, switching mission control sides), but instead of focusing on the elbow, we should be attacking the hand. This small detail will also help better setup your dead orchard attacks from their most common defensive reaction to attacking the zombie in this way. Try focusing on this small detail the next time you go for your zombies and let me know how it goes!
If you want to improve your rubber guard game, reach out to me for a private. More important than the shiny more advanced attacks I show are the small details within each of the basics. I can help you with both. I'm in Oceanside, San Diego and LA weekly and will be in Oregon a bit for the holidays.

Great stuff Nietzsche. I was trying the zombie in the gi and it's even harder with all that cloth. I will most definitely try this out. Thanks!

@Aryan Toon a jacket is definitely more realistic than no clothes. The only thing I dont like about the gi is the no leglocks culture. That sucks. But besides that I think the gi makes you a more complete grappler

@Aryan Toon gi players aren't absolutely ignorant of nogi tools, we train all the same armlocks, guillotines, RNC, takedowns. If were are talking about a self defense situation I dont thing much more would be needed tbh

hey ben thanks alot for all those videos you upload and techniques you share could you please make a video about rubber guard flexibility training there are just a few of them out there thx alot
@BenEddy

DOGILAND hmm ok. I am no expert on flexibility, but there are some things I could cover that I think would help. The main one being just showing that I am not as flexible as most people may think. The main flexibility needed for rubber guard and that ultimately having proper angles can reduce the amount of flexibility needed.

Brent Luder yea I probably need to do a 2.0 video for the Hindu game. It's still a main part of my go to path.
