Anthony Starr plays Homelander so chillingly well, he makes you love to hate him. Please cover Billy's quest for vengeance, Hughie and how he's also lost a loved one, but how he compares to Billy, and Starlight as she gradually turns against the Seven.

One thing I think the Boys does better than most other shows is humanizing virtually everyone. Most shows would not be able to make me feel any sympathy or pity towards characters like Homelander, Stormfront (when she talked about her daughter), or Soldier Boy but this show made it happen. At the same time, they are able to do that while making it clear it in no way excuses the horrible things that they do. Wonderful analysis on Homelander though I am a little surprised you did not touch upon his interactions with Ryan and Soldier Boy. Can't wait to see who else you analyze, I feel pretty safe in saying that we will be taking a look at BIlly Butcher and I hope there will be a video on Queen Maeve.

@@HeavySandvichGuy1 The Deep is one of the most pitiful characters to me. He does one really awful thing at the start, and after that he just fails and fails and fails, and gets tormented. One scene that felt really genuine to me was the scene in season 2 where he talks about walking past the pet store as a kid, realizing he could hear the fish and all that. It wasn’t played for laughs and it wasn’t totally pathetic. It was a real, dignified character moment. I feel like people are just too scared to sympathize with or like him because of what he did to Annie, to be honest.

That mirror scene sort of reminds me of the scene in LotR where Sméagol and Gollum have their conversation as well. Gollum insisting that _he_ was the one that got them through the hard times, that _he_ kept them alive and made all the difficult choices. While that is probably true, as it is for Homelander as well, Gollum never accepts accountability for putting Sméagol in those situations in the first place, and neither does Homelander's other self.

I'm delighted you're having a look at The Boys, the show is rife with many broken characters often giving into the worst of their impulses. While there's a theme of it running throughout, parenthood and how parents shape their children really dominates the third season. It would be great topic to cover since you have Hughie, Homelander, Mother's Milk, Butcher and Becca to draw from at the very least.

I've long thought that just as the Emmies have drama and comedy categories, they should also have fantasy categories for Best Actor/Actress/etc. There's some brilliant acting that I think flies under people's radar in the Emmies because a series isn't quite a drama or comedy. @@GeorgiaDow I can’t believe it’s already been 8 months since you released the first jinx video that got me started here. Now I’m headed off to college in a month preparing to study psychology. I’m scared, anxious, and feeling unprepared but I think this is what I want to do. I appreciate the impact you have had on my journey. (I hope we get to see that play button as well)

I think this was one of the best scenes in many shows or films ever for me. Unfortunately tho, I see that how much I feel he is relatable to me continues to create questions

I really really hope you do Black Noir/Erving next. Because he’s so wholesome especially near the end when we see things from his POV and everything he has to deal with. I love your videos!

I like how in the show we see supes in normal clothes when they show their humanity and those we see only in their costumes are homelander, black noir, stormfront and solider boy

Good listen. Tho I'm absolutely about asserting dominance in defence. Usually when you try to make your feelings known to unknown people, they may not care about your self esteem or politesse

My main reason for why I believe Homelander's actions here are genuine is because I don't think he's socially & emotionally intelligent to do these things deceitfully & through planning. I think it's through sympathizing via shared experiences & his personal values, & as a result, this is one of the only genuine, loving moments that we ever see from him.

As a Nurse trained in psychiatry, I've really enjoyed this video of yours. Instant new sub. Keep going sis' Also when you talk of Homelander being stuck in the developmental ages of 7 and 11, are you referring to Erickson's statuses?
@GeorgiaDow

Thanks for your work =) Such an important field. I dont really use any ones developmental status specifically. yay on the sub and commenting

I'm impressed, with how accurate it is, I talk to myself in a similar way, I even call my more emotional part the child, but my better self is way meaner, with my child self, maybe that's why I like now so much more SB and HL

Lucky. I have only one voice and it's critical and I can never counter it aloud. I've never talked to myself, basically.
