I'm saying, for a plot point that drives Billy's actions for eight or nine episodes this season, it's underwhelming to make such a big deal of how horrifying he looks only for the reveal that he's really not disfigured at all.

@@MasterAndreRaven While I get that argument, let's not forget how obsessed Billy was with his looks. He has (among others) narcissistic personality disorder. By the reactions of others, his face isn't at all grotesque to anyone else but it IS to Billy because it is imperfect. As well, the visual disfiguration is only half the equation. He also lives with a mental nightmare of terror and fracture. We are far more driven by how we see ourselves than how other people see us.

@@AngeloBarovierSD Then all it should have taken was one person, when Billy was going on one of his many angry speeches about what happened to him, and how carved up he looked, to say, "Dude. It's really not that bad. You look fine. Seriously. There's scars, but fuck man, you were in the military. Who the hell is going to give a fuck?" Besides that, this is a guy who had his own company, was worth how many millions of dollars from his ill-gotten gains, and he's concerned about some pretty dull scars? This man lost everything that mattered to him besides his looks, and he acts like all he was was his face. Sorry. As someone who quite literally had his cheek gouged out by glass at the age of five, and went through school with very visible, pronounced scars on his face, who had the nickname "Scarface" all throughout elementary school, and who didn't turn into a murdering psychopath because of the near constant mockery and bullshit that comes with having visible facial scars until an age where they've actually healed up and faded, the arc of Billy in Season Two sucks. I'm not going to give anything away about it, but at the very least they could have given him keloid scarring or something more than the same damned scar tissue lines I had on my face throughout my formative years for the amount of times throughout season two that Billy makes an issue of how horrible he looks, particularly when the "mental nightmare" of what happened to him to give him those scars is resolved the moment he realizes who did it to him. Then he's no longer traumatized; he just wants revenge, but not for the terror, for the scars that he can't get over.
