I binged the entire Adventures of Puss in Boots show on Netflix during the pandemic in 2020 and my absolute favorite episode was "Written By". Watching Dulcinea fall deeper and deeper into insanity was so fun to watch. She based her whole life on a nursery rhyme book and had her perception of reality shattered by the person she idolized. That's kind of messed up, especially when she ends up kidnapping the author of the book and, in a fit of psychotic denial, tries forcing her to write a sequel. There were legit some moments where I thought Dulcinea was going to torture her. It's a really disturbing episode and I'm all for it.

I forgot that in Shrek 1’s short film (karaoke dance party) Mama Bear is back and well, sooo… I wonder who is the rug? But I think the 3 bears Crime Family in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish are different from the 3 bears in Shrek. Anyways I think I know when Puss in Book: Trapped in an Epic Tale takes place. I think it’s set during Boar Games from Season 4 as it makes sense because Puss was searching for the obelisk and going through the desert all day (Trapped in an Epic Tale can’t be set after season 4 but before season 5 because the fifth season takes place right after the ending of the fourth one and Trapped in an Epic Tale would have to be after “Titan-Up” because he and the sky god are properly introduced to each other and become friends and that’s what’s established in the special episode). Also I would like to bring up that “Breaking Good” was placed between “Written by” and “Fancy Beast” in the episode list by accident because it’s supposed to be between “Prey Time” and “Written by” actually.

I think Kitty Softpaws made an early appearance in *Shrek 2* during Puss’s solo part of the song in the Living’ da vida loca scene. Look at the black cat, she is wearing a mask and gloves and she is anthropomorphic like Puss. So while people may not realize it, she was originally a background character in *Shrek 2* and then they used her again but actually as a main character in *Puss in Boots*

I know im late, but... I know that when I was a young little lad, I was obsessed with the netflix show and I loved puss from that. I was never a shrek fan, as the staryotipical "adult humor" was not and still is not to my taste. At some point I must have watched all the shrek films, or at least 1-3, but I cant remember. I really loved the netflix show and one of these days I must go back to it. Its strange for me to look at it now though, [context: I am writing a book series] because whenever I have imagined anthropomorphic cat people, its *always* the puss and dulcinea model. I always imagine them with those same proportions, meaning that once I began looking for insperatinal art for characters, they always looked... off. like they just didn't seem right to me, and thanks to hindsight, it was because the picture of a cat person was always puss and or dulcinea. I then, at some point, watched the first puss movie and I only remember the first hour, and the humpty plot twist. I didn't remember the ending at all. I remember specifically watching promotinals for it, prob from my old Avatar the Last Air-Bender DVD's, and I remember it looking super cool. I only knew about, and wanted to watch the last wish because I watched a video breaking down how to write panic attacks and the video cited and spoiled most all of the film. At the time I didn't care for it; so I didn't think anything of it. When I watched it for the first time a few days ago, I was expecting, 10 min of intro then the rest of it being the quest. So when it turned into a musical, I was confused beyond measure. But now that I have watched it a second time, I definitely love the film. [I actually think I'm going to watch it again tomorrow] This comment essay is too long and this sentence remarking on that is only making it longer. One of the main resions I love the last wish is because of the animation. [context, (you have been warned{and yes I know the [] and the () are switched/out of order, I'm too lazy to hold the 'shift' key.}): I have an overactive imagination, meaning that horror films always come back to haunt me, and that when I write, I imagine the scene first, then write what I "see." because of this I love watching VFX and other shot composition breakdowns] when the frame rate drops for the fights, it is called "animating on two's." Long story short: they half the frame rate, or rather dubble the amount of time each frame gets. for example, most 3D animation is done at 64 individual frames per second. when you anomate on twos, you half the frame, 32, then for those frames that no longer are filled, you duplicate the previous frame. so over the course of a second you see 64 frames, with half of those frames being duplicate frames. This style is typically done for 2D animation, because it requires less drawing. most Anime are 32 frames. they sometimes include 3D models, and also sometimes leave them at 64 frames... I'm looking at you Avatar the Last Air-Bender. The shot composition is impeccable. Top-notch, stuff. during the first fight, I belive you see Puss on two's and the giant on two's, but I belive they leave the background at 64 frames. It creates this interesting contrast and helps separate the foreground elements and the background elliments, forcing your eyes to focus on the fight and not the background. now I will say that there are, maybe two plot holes I found, assuming you take the film at face value, kitty says to puss "Ah, there’s that handsome face I remember. The face I haven’t seen since... Santa Coloma." The use of "since" directly confirms that Santa Coloma was the last place Kitty actually saw Puss. later in the film, after Puss apologise to kitty for not showing, kitty reveals to puss that "I didn’t show up, either. ... I wasn’t gonna show up for that guy." This means that, assuming she is telling the truth, that she was not at the alter, or even in the church building at all! The only explanation, assuming she is telling the truth, is that she saw Puss outside of the church. She probably was watching him, knowing full well he would not follow through. Now my head cannon is that she actual did show up and that she saw Puss from the window. If she didn't, then why would she be so hostile? it truly seems that Puss really hurt her at Santa Coloma. But after overhearing Puss and Perrito, she disides to move past it because "you don’t seem like that guy anymore." The second plot hole is really minor, after puss drops the map and runs away, he somehow knows that the Bears have the map, despite not witnessing them grabbing the map, and neither kitty or Perrito told him. I guess he could have looked over his shoulder and seen them. its rally not a big deal because kitty would have told him anyway, or maybe I'm miss-remembering. Overall, I love this video, 9.8732500348912/10. keep up the good work.

Would the book adaptations be deemed as canon for the series of Puss In Boots? Mostly 2011 which has subtle dialogue changes but follows mostly the same concept of lore and everything still remains the same.
