I love the Pyre it looks so cool and so powerful for its cost. Iv been using it as target practice for a while now. Its got 12 of those big missiles and they are really hard to take out. It wrecks Empyrean and almost everything else. Its missile defence is not that great vs large missiles. Just to clarify why I say missiles. With delays and wide angles you can get missiles to avoid the front armour and hit it underneath, the sides and on top. A sub reversing launching missiles with a 10 second delay will hit underneath as the Pyre keeps coming forward. You will need heavy front armour as those Sabots still really hurt 100m beneath the waves. Missiles launched from the sides with a little delay will go into the sides of the Pyre and a circling fast ship launching missiles directly up will hit the top and back as the Pyre turns to face your ship.

At 2:10 you can see the thumper missiles have short range thrusters and flies at approx 360m/s meaning that you should be able to ignore them if stay at 2km away from it, assuming you're faster than it.

Okay, side note before I go on some tangent or whatever I am about to do. Gray Talons. BEST faction. I LOVE the Gray Talons. Not only do they love tanky airships, but they has beautiful ships, and the Empyrean has THE best easter egg in the game. I won't tell just in case you haven't see it, but it is SO good. And like the best part of all is the lore of the faction is really cool. I remember that there is a story that spoke of the Gray Talons on when you hover over the name of the area where you find them, and the way they described the appearance of a Gray Talons airship is super cool. Anyways, I am really glad plasma weapons are here now. Previously, wedge spam was wildly OP and entirely uncool and unfun, but now with plasma it don't work so good no more! It still isn't a bad thing to have, but now you are forced to either make your ship significantly larger to accommodate spaces of air in-between to prevent plasma from destroying a mass chunk that drives deep into the ship, or you have to have less of them for those air gaps. I do think plasma is little bit too strong right now, but I haven't gotten a chance to test it to a point where I can actually gauge that correctly. I mean, with a strong enough impact cram you can do literally the same exact thing just far less effective.

The Pyre is the only thing in existence where the more it eats, the more it loses weight and it is on a bullet diet. Edit: The FDA has issued a warning for this.
