Czar Nicholas II(Russian Ruler) cousin was King George V ..Empress Alexandra was the granddaughter of Queen Victoria ..Elizabeth got to marry who she loved ...happy for her

Actually they say here that he was 18. And that's how I've always heard it, I've seen quite a few specials on them and I've always heard she was 13 and he was 18.

Granted there was a war going on, but I am amused by the ambivalence (on the part of the Royal Family) toward the Duke of Edinburgh's German connections. Did the King forget about the fact that his own parents were German royals (House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha & Wuttemburg repsectively) by birth?

Why don't they just tell the truth. Phillip's mother suffered from schizophrenia. Instead of seeking the very best possible treatment available for her, they "hid" her away in a sanatorium to receive "quackery" treatments for 2.5 years. She was abandoned by her playboy husband Prince Andrew, who went to live on the French Riviera with his mistress.

It would depend upon the number of generations removed the two of you are related. In Elizabeth II and Phillips case, they saw nothing wrong with them being wedded as they were not considered "immediate" relations but at least 2 generations apart & at opposite ends of the spectrum. :-)
