There is a need for greater exposure of such scholars to spread the message and make us better educated in such tense atmosphere.

Again and again there will be people who show passionate hate towards islam or infact any religion. As muslims its important to not get amped up about it and not justify the religion, as the people who hate are always going to exist. Please anyone interested in the religion or if you have questions i strongly suggest you go in depth and read the translations and transliterations as well as study the scholars themselves,and question as many educated historians and people alike as it can bring great insight on all religions, and yes i highly encourage for everyone including muslims to study other religions aswell! It would be easier to understand one another in today's society.

True! Even the Bible bear witness to that facts that Jesus was sent only to the house of Israelite. Whether the Gentiles were included in his mission is another question that can be debated.

At a time when there is so much criticism and hype about Religion, there is a crying need for more information about Spirituality and how Religion can foster it. Here in Public Media there such preoccupation with the demographics and far too little about actual practice. How about if we drop some of the discussions about context and get around to how the Quran is used as a guide to being a better person? Speaking for myself I become impatient with always being redirected to hadith and sunnah. FWIW.

The problems (wars, murder, intolerance, anti-human rights, etc. etc.) that religions cause are also timeless.

Then why are a lot of the stories in the quran happen to be in the middle east and 1,000+ years ago? Also the quran didnt spread to all nations. Why didn't Native Americans know about islam? Or Australians? or South American Natives? And why did the quran drop after thousands of years into human existence?
