The Radio was one of the most underrated punk bands of the 90’s. Hailing from Poway, CA, they existed very briefly from 1996-1998 and released one home demo with 10 Songs featuring Luke Capistran (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Greg Schneider (Vocals/Bass), and John Ferrara (Drums/Vocals). They played few shows but their songs were amazing, citing influential punk bands such as: The Dead Kennedys, Crass, and Stiff Little Fingers. After disbanding, each member went their separate ways: Luke went on to form the notable metal/hip hop group Cystic, Greg went on to join popular bands Agent 51 and The Megas, and John continued drumming in various projects. The band has not made any plans to reunite but will be remembered by those who were there during the magical era of communal punk rock shows in San Diego and Poway during the 90’s and early 2000’s.
