This was a personal project and my goal was to record a Led Zeppelin song with only one acoustic guitar and no layered guitar tracks. It was more complicated and took longer than what I had expected, but I loved putting it together.

Yep, the string section is outstanding. As a matter of fact, the original version is not recorded with actual string instruments, but with a mellotron. Real violin and cello gets a much better result!!

@@olimon63 When I first planned this project, I hadn't realized that real strings weren't being used - then it made me appreciate the wonderfully subtle and important contributions made by Jones.

I`ve been practicing this song for a couple of months now on the acoustic guitar, almost getting it all. This version made me cry with great emotion and joy. Music have such a power in connecting people. Congratulations to Andy and all the players.

This is truly a beautiful rendition of one of my most favorite Zeppelin songs. 18 months later and no follow up? It's time to get the band together and cut another video! I don't think I'm the only fan waiting for another cut from the band. Either way, thanks for nearly 8 minutes of joy. 🤠

WOW!!! What an absolutely beautiful rendition of this song!!! Having real strings rather than a synthesizer emulating a string section makes the song more "organic." Just absolutely beautiful!!! Thanks for all the effort to make this video. It is something to be proud of and I think that Jimmy and John Paul would approve.

As others have said, this is the BEST cover of this song, hands down! Your vocalist is amazing and somehow manages to make this her own. The string section made this song even better. The guitar part is sublimely rendered. Just gorgeous! Thank you SO much for giving us this gift.

Wow! Most of these performances are a dude in his living room and a USB microphone. You guys are really good. The recording and mixing guy is the hidden hero - the levels are so well balanced and the EQ brings out the deeper rich tones from the performances, especially the vocals, a little reverb - quite the opposite of the original, but it fits the song well. Really enjoyed this. Thanks for the work put in.

Everything about this cover is amazing, its such a flawless, high effort rendition of the original. It's inspiring in the most literal sense, it makes me think "shit, I should blow the dust off of my guitars and find some people to play with" !!!

Too funny - that's exactly what I thought "dust off my guitar and find some people to play with...". I'm back playing on a regular basis now and I couldn't be happier with the project. I'd recommend starting with a shorter and perhaps easier song, but anything that gets you playing is what matters. I hope you get the dust off and thanks for the nice comment.

@@digitaltake Thanks man, I just bought a new guitar tuner (old one was fucked). I can actually play thissong on guitar! Once my tuner comes in I'm gonna drop my acoustic down to whatever weird and wonderful tuning this song is in and play it by myself.

Led Zeppelin’s only ballad, and one of my favorite songs of theirs. Outstanding cover. Splendid arrangement. Simply wonderful. Would love more Led Zep from you. Perhaps “Kashmir” and “No Quarter”? Thank you!

@@costaliberta5969 “Since I’ve Been Lovin’ You” has a chorus, so it’s not a ballad. No two verses in “The Rain Song” repeat, therefore it meets the traditional definition of a ballad, and is the only Led Zeppelin song to do so.
