The RARE TIGER WOODS TITLEST IRONS Made by Miura Japan!

4 жыл бұрынWe received one of the Rarest Japanese Golf Clubs of all time. The Limited Japan Only Titleist Irons Made by Miura Giken for Tiger Woods. This is T-207 of the 500 sets made. In the last 15 years of TourSpecGolf, we only got to hold a couple of these impossible to get irons. When brand new, these Tiger Woods irons came in a cherry wood box with a signed certificate by tiger and retailed for $5000 usd in the late 90's! These sold out almost immediately and one of the hardest clubs to get a hold of to date.

Are these based on the MB-680 Titleist forged irons? They look very close in shape / geometry to the 680’s. I wondered whether Titleist ever used Miura to produce production lots of the forged 680’s as many used sets on EBay are in Japan.

they are not. they actually look like shovels compared to the 680MB. 690MB is a near perfect blade.

Miura son said that they don’t know either if they were for Tiger. They just made them and maybe they stamped titleist on it by the factory

I always found it weird that the actual irons that Tiger used were made by Endo, but Miura forged the limited edition run, any explanations on why that would be?

Endo is a forging house in Japan. Endo most likely forged the blanks for Miura to grind as Miura is a grinding house, not forging. Endo forges for many other manufactures other than Titleist and Miura, IE Bridgestone J33 series and J40.

So it is true that Tiger played with these while winning some major championships! About time we got the true answer! Idk if I feel sad about Miura not gaining enough attention for this or not because it seems like Titlist took advantage of the performance and the pristine quality of Miura's without acknowledging that Titlist just stamped their logo on Miura's

Tiger never played with these. These were simply a commemorative set made by Miura for Titleist.

I play mizuno mp-18. I hope they never have a pga tour presence to speak of for selfish reason. Let the masses play the made in China titleist, Taylor made, and Calloway. Being from the motor city, I respect Master craftsmanship. I am a people person. I respect people that take pride in their work, and companies that appreciate the craftsman they employ.

It's been a long time. I'm sure the TM's have less offset, a nicer transition in the neck, not as chunky. better shape and a tungsten weight, a blade is a blade is a blade.

I’ve always been told that Tiger used the Mizuno MP-29’s to win his first green jacket in 1997. Now was that particular iron also made by Miura as well? I would probably say no but you never know.

That’s not what I was implying. I was just putting that out there. You probably knew that Tiger played MP 29’s in 1997. I was just wondering if Miura made those forgings as well. Keep up the good work. Love the content.

@@normansykes3708For his Masters win in 1997, Tiger actually played a combo set of MP29's in the long irons (2 - 4) and MP14's in the mid and short irons (5-P).

I watched the 1997 Masters here on KZfaq, and paused the video during one of Tiger's swings. The back of the club in his hands looked just like these. The video quality wasn't so good, and I don't know what the MP29s look like, but the club in his hands looks just like these.

I would not recommend to play the same specs or even the same irons as Tiger Woods. I bought three Mizuno MP33 sets -way back- from the then #1 PGA tour player in the world. Bloody hard to hit. You need their skill levels to enjoy playing them ….
