@Alex Etches - when I opened my Nicklaus Miura irons I had the same reaction as you: Like Christmas morning. Literally, these irons are a gift from God to me as I prayed for them and Miura graciously allowed me to buy them even after they were sold out. I’m a Christian like Jack Nicklaus and his wife, Barbara, and I learned to played golf from watching his videos - Golf my way. After hitting these irons the way he taught me I can also conclude that they are the best irons ever made. Please make the video or if your out in Orange County California, I will take you to play at my home course: Torrey Pines or the one near my home strawberry farms - we can film. I watched every minute of the 1970 Open that Jack won and as a result he became MY golfing hero and the inspiration for me to play! As a result, I played forged MacGregor blades right through the 70’s and early 80’s getting to scratch at 16! I wish I had kept at least one set but money was tight then! These clubs ARE a fitting tribute to both him AND Mr Muira’s skills! I also think your obvious “overwhelmed” joy was brilliant as well! Thank you!

I can't believe that you actually hit them. I would be scared to scuff them and get them dirty. Then again, they are golf clubs and are meant to be played right? I am jealous.

My first set of golf clubs were Golden Bear forged irons in 1980. Nobody had told me yet that forged irons were really hard to play, so I didn't know better and I played them for 5 years. Loved them. 3 iron, hitting 90 compression wound balls, carried 225 yards. Straight as a string, with the occasional crazy slice if I missed the center of the face. Of course, I was 29 when I got them, so my ability to adapt to the clubs was just enough to make them enjoyable.

They look to be shaped similar to my Titleist forged 680's. I do know that Titleist of Japan used to forge their 680 model club heads at Miura. I won my (Titleist 680) 3-iron in a bet with one of my former Japanese Fujifilm executive co-workers. we made a closest to the hole bet on a par 3 and I bet him his 3 iron for my Ping Anser putter. I ended up closer so I got his Miura forged Titleist 680 3-iron.

Beautiful set of irons! My first set was an early 1960's set of MacGregor Jack Nickolas signature MB's given to me by my Dad. I think that's all they made was MB's back then. Love Jack, 18 majors, 18 2nds in majors, 79 top 10's in majors, you know what I am saying

Some 45 years ago I was 13. The pro at the public course we played at had a framed set of numbered Jack's Muirfield clubs behind the counter. Until now those Muirfields were the most beautiful clubs I'd ever seen. Champlain golf course. Aylmer, Quebec, Canada. Oh the memories.

Al, I completely understand your giddiness over those irons. There are times when I will pull one of my MC-501s out of the bag and just stare at it. That sliver of a top edge just puts me at ease at address knowing the work behind it and having the confidence that the feedback I get will be honest. I will know by the feel of the hit where the ball is going as they are that sensitive. I can’t imagine how you got your hands on a set. If it were me I’d find a way to keep them.

Ok. I’m only 3:39 into this and I already feel the need to comment. Within that short period of time the amount of ground covered is astonishing. From drooling over one of the most gorgeous set of irons I’ve ever seen, the notable collaboration of George Foreman and a grill, to one kangaroo landing a straight right on another, I don’t know if there is anything left to satisfy my KZfaq watching pleasure! Hahahahahaha

I still have my Jack Nicklaus Macgregor Muirfield irons (2 to pitching wedge). I will try them next year and give you a feedback. Today, we just receive 6 inches of snow... so, my legs are waiting for the (ski) slopes.

I had a wave of emotions when you opened the box. Kinda like opening a playboy magazine when you are kid and know your not suppose to mess with that! And also made me wish I was still 1968 and the bear was using these irons today...also for $2,750 I'd much rather buy these than the RF33s you reviewed 2 weeks agoish.

Those are as beautiful a set of sticks as you will ever see. Miura's are gorgeous, and invite all the comparisons....Rolex, Bentley, McIntosh electronics, and so on. So pretty, you ALMOST don't want to hit with 'em...but you gotta hit a golf club or it's not alive. And shouldn't all clubs come boxed like these? Don't throw away that box. These clubs ARE like Jack Nicklaus. Pride, but not arrogance. Beautiful.

Yep.....pure.....if you have talent and are young I believe the only set you should play and improve with is a set is a set of proper blades....strike is king and nothing but a blade makes you a great striker......I loved my Dunlop Maxfli Australian Blades, Palm Springs Blades, Brosnan Blades, but non of them matched my Hogan Apex 1990 model blades......wish I was 20 again I would have these in a heart beat......😎👍

I think there are actually millions of Nicklaus clubs out there…nearly every time I look for used clubs some variation of his muscle backed blades come up for $10-$100 - spend a bit to refinish and you have these. You got GOT by a fancy box and advertising me friend.

I came up in the days when EVERY iron was like this...it was just a matter of what BRAND you wanted. The only option other than these blades were Pings. That was it. lol Yep, I'm old but the equipment back then was no joke. You either learned to hit the ball solidly or you were just a total hack. The equipment is so good today that's it's really a different game than it was back then.
