This is a extremally rare commercially made molded fiberglass truck camper for an 8' bed 3500 pickup truck. This camper was made by a division of Wesco Fountains, a fountain company (no longer in business), Roamer RV was located just south of Sarasota, Florida. Roamer RV sold their molded fiberglass truck campers factory direct and were custom built to order. Roamer truck campers were very limited production products. This is the first Roamer I have ever seen in over 20 years in the RV business.

Thank you so much for bringing this to YT Patrick! I have one and a couple two hours south of me have one as well, but they are both in a little rougher shape so it’s great to see all the details in prime shape. Mine is a second model nearly identical but for no dinette to bed conversion, and it adds two cup holders by the bed, which is a funny choice. Anyhow, thanks again so much!

Hello, I saw that my sister mentioned me in the comments. Yes, the Roamer I bought came with boxes of info from the all the build sheets, (53 made by the way) blue prints, pattents, hand drawn sketches from the owner, brochures in Spanish and English, original Roamer hand towels, stickers for the exterior, an entire list of the supplies they used, etc, etc, etc. The list goes on and on. Basically I have every remaining missing piece of this mysterious amazing brand of truck camper!! Please feel free to message me, I have the entire history of this company and would love to shed some light if anyone needed.

My two cents…you really need a dually for stability and carrying capacity. So many people go with a single rear wheel and they are highly unstable. I know, you have extra this and that but a dually solves all of that.

It is a cool camper. I had one for a couple of years. Lot of water issues, not the least of which the dealer I bought it from thought duct tape was the proper sealant for the roof vents. Water entry points were a weakness on this design, it gets in the fridge vent, and the side access doors especially easy, but it is mostly fiberglass which means water will not destroy it, only make a lot of repairs necessary to replace rotten wood. Is a very aerodynamic design and I could get 20 mpg on a diesel truck, or 17-18 with it and towing a cargo trailer. With any TC there is no storage and this one woefully lacks upper cabinet storage. I had a rule to not drill or screw any new holes into the fiberglass so that limited me adding storage. The roof sank under the weight of the roof AC, so that had to be un-sagged and braced. The floor is plywood between those fiberglass sandwich pieces, and was not fun to rip out from underneath and replace. Same for fridge floor wood. The plumbing was all glued together like a house so to work on it meant destroying the pipe connections. No rubber or flexible connectors were used. The support legs really belong ONLY on the corners, so if you have one with legs in the middle then move them to the corners asap or you will crack it. Fiberglass is a lot of work to maintain, waxing needed and is not easy like waxing car paint. I never even finished waxing one side in the 2 years. With all the issues and weaknesses of design it was still a great camper and looked cool.

@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures lol, ok. Too bad they could not work out all the design issues on this, it had potential, but in the end was just a disaster, and though it looks like a cool design was a terrible design afterall. Cool "look" , great aerodynamics, horrible to live in, and did I mention it has no way to handle water if it rains, it leaks like a sive.

I didn't catch how big it is? Length? In the old days when campers were more popular, they came in different sizes. Knowing the length helps you figure how heavy, how much room, how many amenities... my Dad's camper was similar in many ways, but it had cooler stuff bc it was 11.5 feet😊. But I do like the fiberglass. My Dad was always sealing the roof on his. I'll bet you don't have this problem w/ fiberglass... With the way prices & inflation have gone crazy, I'd guess $50k...

This must be a used unit. There is rust on the hinges and moisture pitting all over the burner section, and no automatic levelers. Give me a NorthernLite anyday.

Why not totally trash the truck bed? Build a camper to fit the frame of the truck with cutouts for the wheels and utilize all the available space for tanks etc!

That would be good only for someone who just wants to use the truck for one purpose

Roger: There are companies that do just that... camper shells that bolt onto the frame of the truck. They aren't very common, but they do exist.

That’s the color of the fiberglass. I have, never been smoked in as far as the previous and only other owner recounted, almond or some such.
