Observing our domestic pets is always interesting, especially when their behavior goes beyond the ordinary. However, watching wild animals can be even more fascinating.
Bengal tigers, the strongest and largest predators among felines, can evoke genuine awe. They are the largest cats in the world, with adult males weighing up to 550 pounds, reaching heights of 9.8 feet, and having tails around 35 inches long. These animals also have long fangs, reaching about 4 inches, making them the longest fangs among felines. Bengal tigers also possess sharp retractable claws, used for attacking their prey, contributing to their dangerous reputation - victims have little chance of surviving attacks at dawn or dusk.
However, today's story we'll share might change your perception of the wild and cruel nature of Bengal tigers. It all happened in a zoo in South Bend, Indiana, USA. A group of young friends, including the pregnant Natasha Henshaw, went on a tour, deciding to visit the enclosure where a huge Bengal tiger named Valera lived.
To her surprise, the tiger behaved in an entirely unusual manner. He acted as if he were an affectionate domestic cat. He extended his paws through the glass, rubbed his face against the glass near Natasha's head. She was amazed and told her friends, 'This is insane! I don't know whether to laugh or be afraid! And I want to pet him!'
