Im Cuban but born in the US. All of my family is from Cuba and they always tell me not to visit because it’s sad to see how people live. Some areas they live without floors, just mud and when it rains the floor in their home is squishy and muddy. There’s no food and the lines are long for the food they actually can get. I just wish I could help them all out there. Life is a struggle there. 😢

They don't even want to come to America. Some families are better off then some just like in America. You family might live in a area, where it constantly gets damaged by mother nature. I haven't been to Havana Cuba since 2010 and wow not much has changed at all. 😢 I feel for my people. One thing I learned from that visit when I went to meet my family for the 1st time was to value what I have today. I value the hot water, central ac, clothes, shoes, food, and just everything I have. My uncles keep me up to date on things, and I never hear good things except that my cousin sings at restaurants and TV shows. I want to go back soon. We went to El Cerro, which is where my family lives. The never place to eat and enjoy Cuba is El Barrio Chino. They have all types of food, not just Cuban in that area. Barrio Chino is a clean area where most tourists visit.

@@rjlovell1 Cubans have more freedoms and better democracy than the theater show in the US. They are in prison, yes, but imprisoned by the US. Why does the US economically blockade a tiny island, if Cuban system is so bad and inefficient? Why not just let them fail on their own? It is the same reason they were afraid of Haiti where slaves freed themselves back in the 1800s. The US cooperated with France and did everything to make sure Haiti remained as poor as possible, because the example it was setting to their own slaves. The US will keep imprisoning Cuba because they know that if they end the blockade, Cuba will prosper.

Jesus Christ wants a personal relationship with you through the Holy Spirit, not religion and blind faith. You see, we all have sinned, and have broken God’s law (The Ten Commandments). Wrong doing deserves justice and must be punished (just like how a criminal has to pay for the crime they have committed) but God saved us from the eternal punishment of our sins by sending His Son Jesus Christ, fullness of God in flesh, a perfect, sinless sacrifice to pay the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross and resurrecting, so that we may have everlasting life. It is all finished and now for you to accept the free gift of grace, you must repent of your sins and put your faith in Jesus Christ and Bible says that His Blood will cover all of your sins, you will be forgiven, saved from eternal punishment, and be given everlasting life. By faith you will receive the Holy Spirit, become born again, know Jesus personally and He will transform your heart and clean you from the inside out. Turn away from sin, read the Bible, pray for the Holy Spirit to fill you and change you, obey the Word. Much love and God bless you!

When I was a tourist in the former Soviet Union in 1991, not a single home had electricity and nobody owned a car. By banning electrified homes, people cannot communicate with one another to set up an overthrow of the government. Without cars, people cannot get together in large groups to stage an overthrow. Visiting there is a double edge sword, because they know you’re coming from a country that has money, and they have none. You come and look at their lives in poverty - and you leave - and go back to your fat American life. I’m not criticizing, because I’ve been to places like this, and always have mixed feelings. A friend of mine from Uruguay, who lived in Miami for a couple years, said you should appreciate that just living in America with citizenship, makes you privileged and your possibilities, compared to these people, is limitless.

Safer than in some places in the US. Never felt in danger in Cuba and it is a lot cleaner than some some parts of US cities. The video itself attests to the exaggeration of "trashy". Found out that some of the crimes that may be committed in Cuba could easily bring a minimum of 25 years. in prison! Photography is one of my loves and you are correct that you must be careful where and how you shoot. Love your video Bro and my wife and I will be going back. I visited Cuba in 2017 and it was definitely an experience. I saw some of the poorest places yet some of the nicest people. The food was really good but as you mentioned there were flies everywhere. I have never seen so many flies in my life. When I went back to the states, I had a stomachache for three weeks which I'm certain was due to the flies covering the food. The food wasn't expensive and we had avocados with every meal. I even picked avocados right off the trees, we had a horse and carriage ride which took us on a sight seeing tour. We saw those old time cars and had a great time. The are you visited looks very familiar to me. We even went to the place where Fidel Castro was laid to rest. Thank you for sharing.

@@timbero2006 - true. Crimes against each other DO occur. Same with tourists like pick pockets. I have lost several pair of sunglasses there. They tag team you!! It’s something that is generally never followed up by the victim. They won’t steal a Gucci purse or Rolex, but a Timex?? No problem!! Haha. It’s the way it is. I went back t9 the stands I was near when I lost my sunglasses and they already had tags on them and were on the vending table!! 😂😂. I bought the pair of Serengetis back for about $8 USD because I had paid closer to $200 US for them by the time I had prescription lenses added. That was a good deal in itself! They knew I was aware so had dropped the price from $50.00. I’m not gonna turn them in. Had they asked I would have just given them more than $10, but they stole from me. The $$ they make off of the snatched items doesn’t have to be reported to the Government as revenue. I bet they were touching your stomache looking for a money belt. A lot of the stores are not always stores but government supply stores as the people get food allotments from the Government. The store like the poster did find have popped up a lot since I used to go there.

We ate in a “restaurant” our illegal Cabbie took us to. It was really fantastic and they insisted we ate until we were absolutely full. We were likely in their courtyard, which was in a rough looking area, but the courtyard may as well have been at the resort. The meal was very inexpensive, but we left a big tip. Since the first time we have gone back to Havana 11 more times and ate there every time. We would call ahead and they took great care of us every time. We generate we’re able to get the same Cabbie as well. He had us over to his home and everything. It turned into a big party with the other tenants in the building!! We got home at sunrise!! One of the most memorable times we had in any part of the world including home!! Even the kids were up until 2 or 3 am!! 😂😂😂. The people can be amazing, but you have to exercise common sense as well. I was in law enforcement back then and am retired now. I have something going on with my pancreas now so travel is much more difficult. That’s life!! 😊😊. Thanks for sharing.
