Thank you very much for the videos. I have watched 3 of them that you have posted on this subject! I bought this truck (2012 Chevy Colorado) about 4 years ago. in it's previous life it was a work truck for a yard maintenance company. I knew it had some electrical issues when I bought it (radio didn't work, dome light would not come on when drivers door was opened). But I drove it for almost 3 years with no problems. About 15 months ago I got the P2138 code. I have one of those FixD code checker things that blue tooths to my phone. Not really a great diagnostic tool I know, but I t does let you know what codes are coming up. Anyway I replaced the pedal, that didn't work. So replaced the throttle body with a Bosch (not GM) and that worked for about 15 months until the other day. When the code came back. Talked to a few local mechanics and they all said try a genuine GM throttle body. That seemed to work drove the truck for about 60 miles everything was fine. The next day (yesterday) didn't even get out of the driveway and the code showed up again. It was so bad I could not even clear the code, it just popped right back up very quickly. Looked at your videos this morning and went and jiggled the connectors that I could reach. Bent them at a little bit different angles, unplugged and replugged 2 of them. Started up the truck cleared the codes right away. Took it for a 10 mile test drive parked for 20 minutes went for a walk and then drove back home. All is well so far. Next step I guess is to replace the connectors and wires to the ECM. Not sure if that is something I want to tackle or have a mechanic do. (going to take it to a friend mechanic that I think has a tester like in your videos with real time readings, and see if any of the values change when the wires are jiggled and wiggles around). Will update after I do that. Just wanted to comment here in case somebody else was having similar issues. Thank you for the videos.... And at least giving me a place to start fixing the problem.

Damn, This kinda confirms what I've been thinking to a degree. I've got an '06 ion redline and it's been acting up in the winter up in washington. I've replaced the PCM, Throttle body, and even the throttle pedal and while those did fix those codes initially, going through the summer into the winter again, I've been getting p2135 and p2138 on the regular. I'll even get a few more codes sprinkled in there, but those are the primary codes that are almost guaranteed to pop up every time. I'm just trying to find some sort of guidance to finally solve this issue because even with the mileage the car has, the engine runs like a champ.

I am having this same exact issue on my daughters 2012 Equinox with the 2.4L EcoTec. I replaced the pedal and throttle body. What's bizarre is that I can reset it, and then the only way it will come back on is when you press past 50% throttle. Should I be looking at the ECM connectors and/or replace the ECM?

You may have to have the code cleared a few times, but the best thing to do is to put the new part in turn your key on. Do not start the vehicle press your accelerator all the way down to the floor and hold it then let it slowly off and then do it again and hold it and then let it off and then start the car and then shut it off. You may have to go to the shop so they can clear the code a few times, but then You just need to keep Driving it and clear the codes a few times which if you take it to Shop to get done, they should do it for you, whatever you do, don’t keep buying new petals to put in just keep clearing the coat truck. The vehicle has to learn that it’s not jacked up anymore. I don’t know why the codes are so hard to clear on this one, but it is a pain in the ass once you finally get it cleared it’ll be fine, it shouldn’t take but at least

I get it sometimes . Sometime does not . I just erase it with ob2 . It takes a long time to for the check engine ligt to come on .

Would this explain why I primarily get this issue in the winter when the water would freeze and further mess with the connection?

I have spent thousands at the Cadillac dealer to fix this issue, I'm on my 4th accelerator pedal, replaced ECM, they claimed to have replaced connectors, when I asked about this TSB they assured me no water was getting into any connections. I'm so frustrated.

I replaced throttle and pedal code never left since I got it either. So how much is the work to do the new wiring for the pedal?

Does this work for buick regal 2011, reduced engine , check light , stablilitrak showed dealer fixed then 4 days later message came back they did check said replaced connector and I am good to go can pick auto up. Then in the next 2 hrs they texted said they drove auto message came back. They reached out to GMC said may need replace ECM. Before now saying ecm i asked because it was a less than 5 days auto had to go back why should I pay for the connector. They didn’t charge me now all of sudden ecm but they are going off gmc person told them may need to replace. Please help with a few questions

My Chevy Sonic is having the same problem. Code P2138 shows up while driving. I replaced a new pedal but problem still there. Engine power was reduced while I'm on I95. I live in Hollywood. Can I come to your place to have it diagnosed? Please help

I have the same issue everybody was talking about but not sure which tech advisor is right about to fix it. I have 2013 Silverado LT 5.3L 1500 4x4 I did replace the throtle body and brake pedal position sensor and only last a few months then happen again, the issue only happen during chill morning of Fall and winter and still happening nowadays not sure what to do fix the problem listen to roo many tech advise and got confused about it because too many this and that and other people did it but still not fix the problem. When it happen this message pop up, (Traction, Stabilitrak, service traction control and Engine Reduced Power) then cannot speed over 5 mph at all, I hope someone understand what I mean

Been dealing with this on 15 Chevy Spark for the past two years. If replacing the pedal doesn't fix the problem, will it do any damage to the engine (or whatever) to just live with it and reset the code when it pops up every few months?
