We made a big Ghostbusters firehouse toy playset for our little junior Ghostbuster action figure. We have finally finished all the details on the exterior of the fire station façade. This Ghostbusters HQ display has interior & furniture inspired from the classic Kenner 80's toys, Ghostbusters movies and The Real Ghostbusters animated series cartoon. This update video is #15 in the series focused on making the Spook Central Ghostbusters headquarters playset. We installed all the LED lighting on each floor. We have also installed LED color changing lights in each of the exterior windows. We are drawing inspiration for the design of this extreme DIY playhouse off the Ghostbusters filming locations. The exterior of the Firehouse building in New York, Hook & Ladder Company 8 and the interior of the Fire Station No. 23 in Los Angeles. The fire stations have been a filming location for several other shows and movies but as the home base for the Ghostbusters what better fire station could you model from for a kids playhouse. We also got a few ideas from looking over our sons Ghostbusters firehouse Playmobil set and the LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters images online, wish we had that! Other inspirations for ideas came from the Ghostbusters video game and The Real Ghostbusters animated TV series cartoon. We posted a series of videos of all the construction update videos and details of how we make this playset.

It looks so cool! That little bit of variation in the paint adds a lot of depth. I didn't know about that bendy drill attachment, that's handy!

Thanks Jasper, those drill extensions can be handy I have a couple different versions. The magnetic ones help hold onto the screws.

The finishing touch will be a mini Ecto-1!! Just get a used "Power Wheels" and deconstruct it to accommodate his height and weight, and boom! Then build a foam shell to go over it and plasti-dip it! But it would need to be big enough to hold his proton pack of course.. 🤔🤔🤔👍👍👍

It'll be another 20 years or so before your kid realizes how awesome his parents were. You'll have to get past the "my parents are lame" phase, but trust me, he'll come back around about college age as he starts comparing stories of growing up with his peers.

Pretty sad to see this project come to an end.. it's such a labour of love. I have the Ghostbusters Playmobil firehouse that I put together. Added in extra things over time like mini arcade machines and Playmobil's couch/tv set. While that's no comparison I can understand what it's like to build on something so iconic. Fantastic job guys, all around. Really spot on. 💗

If there's anyway you can get in touch with Adam Savage from TESTED, he would be thrilled with what you guys have done. I've been watching your progress and his,as he has been building an Ecto 1 kit! You guys are such great parents! Thankyou for all the years you've been sharing your skills! Be careful though, if you guys are too great you'll never get your child to fly the coop later on!!! He'll just move into the firehouse!

I’m curious, what are your neighbors saying?! Are cars slowing down to look? What are your building codes on a playhouse this size?

The property line neighbors seem cool and you can't really see it from the street or the front of the house. Surprisingly the playhouse footprint isn't much bigger than the large two story playsets with the tube slides you can purchase from Costco or online.
