This trip was months in the making, and everything went out the window as soon as the first shot was fired. Blowouts, waterboarding, suspension failures, near-sinkings, anchors breaking at 2am, multiple fuel and power issues to name a few. But we persisted for a full 8 days on the islands with trailer boats - 140km from Dampier and 1600km drive from Perth. We lived off the land and sea by diving, fishing, fossicking and crawling through mangroves. Every man crawled his way to another begging for help at some point - some were made to slither like snakes before help was administered. At all costs the fish were kept frozen and beers cold.
