WCS Westcoast salt : This time the boys have overloaded the yaltacraft and wer'e sending it to the Montebello islands for 7 days of camping, fishing & diving.
Day one consits of loading the Yaltacraft with all the camping gear and taking the few hour boat ride to the islands.
Day 2 see's us fishing in some sharky waters, the vexed jigs temp a few trout and rankins that we manage to slip past the sharks.
Day 3 is all about the topwater fishing, we live out some of the best topwater spanish mackerel bites of our lifetime

Awesome vid 👍🏻 Love to know what you and the owner of the Yalta think of them, they look like they sit low in water with low sides how do you rate them ? Looking at maybe getting a new boat and a new Yalta Fisherman 2200 with full composite stringers and transom looks could be on the cards.

Cheers mate 🤟🏽 I’ve done a monties trip in that boat, it goes hard for its size, and still handled when loaded up, really good on fuel But yes low sides and sits low on the water

This trip we didn’t do any landbased, we only had so many days so had to prioritise what we fished for. When we go back I’d like to make some time for a few land based days

Bro my 2.4 cents on the way you play the fish. I’m from the Cook Islands and 51 years old and 2 fishing boats in Australia . You play fish so rough and their is no need unless you’re trying to get it over the reef and once off just take your time or unless you have sharks chasing it. When they’re chasing fish some stupid people stay at the same spot and feed the sharks and think it’s okay wasting fish. I have done every fishing available and night spearing is one . Yeah I hear ya mate, problem is in the west we have insane shark numbers, if you wind slow you just get sharked. There’s sharks everywhere we go following up fish
