All I’ve ever worn was Tiempo Legends. Just got these new ones. They are ok, but nowhere near as good as the previous ones. It feels like any other synthetic boot. This is purely so Nike can hit some ESG targets, nothing more, nothing less.

The REAL reason Nike dropped k-leather is the same REAL reason synthetics have been normalized on the top priced boots throughout the industry: *Synthetics are cheaper in overhead cost, which means a better profit margin.* And that's it. Nike dropped the K Leather so they can release limited edition K leather Tiempo's in the future. Therefore being able to charge the consumer $350 to $450 for a pair.

Puma has some great boots too soft and close to leather, but it's impossible to beat how kangaroo leather forms to the foot that glove fit really improves touch.

*The simple answer is cost cutting and increasing profit margins. Synthetics are cheaper to produce but they are charging the same price as the older leather tiempos*

From what I am hearing from the US University's is that they like them but, they only get one season out of them. Leather typically lasts them for three or more seasons.

I loved k-leather and been wearing them since 2004. But this tiempoX made me forget about my love for k-leather. At my age, I do appreciate the cushion hurting my feet less and ACC, and man I can't stop thinking of how they felt when I tried them. I'm gonna archive my k-leather boots now and grab a pair.

This is because in the realm of Test & Measurements, you can't measure Softness! You can't take a gizmo with a scale and definitely (through the number on the scale) say this material is softer that that material. What is usually done is Hand Touch, to have a human touch with the hands and the person giving the material a rating such as from 1 to 10. That's why when Nike says "This material is softer the K-leather", it's the same as saying "This product is recommended by 9 out of 10 dentist" 😅 Also, the great thing about K-leather is that they have greater fiber density when compared to other leathers. That's why when you have the same thickness of K-leather and regular leather, the K-leather will outlasts other leathers. Therefore with these premium football boots, manufacturers usually sand/trim the K-leather really thin in order to get the soft touch feel. If Nike would have said that they (or their vendor) had developed a new / improve technique of making synthetic leather where they were able to weave many more fiber into this material then the Kanga-lite material, then perhaps this product is worth a shot. However, since this fluff piece of marketing is all about the "softness" of the new material, I'll pass! Because all they could have is done is make this material "softer" by simply making it weaker then Kanga-lite and call it a day...😏

Imma stick with ortuseight brand from indonesia. I am Malaysian btw. Ortuseight is underrated brand. Most of their boots no need to break in. Mostly the name Catalyst legion v2

Cheaper and faster to make, also breaks down faster so people buy more sooner rather than later.

It's very simple and it doesn't take someone who works for Nike to explain it. Kangaroo leather is too expensive, synthetic leather is cheaper. I got to feel the new tiempos and the difference is night and day. It's not a soft, it has an uncomfortable stickiness to it when you're running your fingers through the leather, and for some reason it's a little narrower. Definitely a step towards the wrong direction.

Good design of the back of the boot on this one. Mercurial Shadow Pack AG Academy version gave me bad blisters on the back (in the spot where the boot ends). Worst experience ever.

Natural leather is biodegradable after a few decades. So, stop using those words like protect environment. If you want to protect environment, use real leather. This guy didn't even attempt to answer the question.😬 The simple answer is switching from kangaroo leather to plastic is an easy way to greatly increase profit margins as plastic is much cheaper than kangaroo leather. The fact of the matter is that there isn't a plastic boot in the market currently, including the Nike Tiempo 10, that comes anywhere near to the touch and feel you get with a kangaroo leather football boot. It's all about profit for Nike !!!
