I respect your decision going back to Canada. You have your job waiting for you. You left your property in which you don’t start building. Go wherever you are happy i’m still watching your vlog. I’m from Alberta Canada. Glad Sky has younger brother or sister? Be safe and pray for your safe delivery.

Many commented without watching the video, LOL! They are dual citizens and have a property in Canada so therefore pay taxes there. They can travel back and forth between countries and maintain properties in both countries. If I were in their situation, I would not let my wife give birth in the Philippines either, when I can go to a first world country at any time for prenatal checks and for birth of our child. Most of their family and friends are still in Canada, it makes sense to go back there where healthcare system is topnotch and more familiar without spending a fortune. The best hospitals are in Manila and Cebu but would cost an arm and leg. Plus, their house is in La Union, too far from Cebu and Manila. Makes sense for them to temporarily go back to Canada. Em can even work in Canada as nurses are in demand there. Wife to give birth for free and them to earn/save more money if Em temporarily works while they are back in Canada. Then fly back to the Philippines when they are ready to go back. Some people are just envious that they do not have the money to do the same.

@@oursimpleandextraordinarylife You're welcome. You guys see the big picture and do what's best for you family. Baby being born as a Canadian citizen then eventually dual in the future makes a lot of sense too versus being born in the Philippines and getting baby's citizenship fixed in the Philippines which would be a nightmare and a slow process, as most of govt offices and Canadian embassy are in Manila. Great decision. Many Fil-Ams and Fil-Canadians are dual citizens, they spend winter months in Philippines and then return in Spring to Canada/US to get their medical check-ups done, visit family/friends, get medications, relax and shop then head back to the Philippines before winter.

That's an advantage of being a Canadian. As long as you actively pay your taxes like a responsible citizen, you are entitled for those benefits. Just a little reminder though. Every province have a maximum eligibility requirements to get your health card active. For example, if you live in Ontario, you need to be PHYSICALLY be in Ontario 153 in any 12 months. To avoid headaches, . Know your eligibility condition. Best regards.

Simply put you just retired too early at your age. At some point after the vacations and relaxations, like work it becomes monotonous as well. The major difference is, youth is synonymous to defining what you could have been at some point through a distant future. True retirement age is the point where those aspirations naturally fades away. As the saying goes "For everything there is a season".

Lesson I learned here: If you are planning to drive a car, SUV, truck or whatever, make sure to learn and know how to change tires. As a teenage girl while in the Phil, I learned how to do that. I am now 65 and retired and still know how to change my tires. Mind-boggling, really! Wow!

I am also a Canadian living in the Philippines since 2017. Just to clarify, it is not free to have a baby in the hospital in Canada unless you are still paying into your medical service provider (in BC its called MSP) or unless you are still employed somewhere which they will cover your extended medical benefits. Congratulations on baby number 2. Safe travels and happy holidays

I do agree 👍, while the surgery was free ( C section) for us here in Ontario via OHIP, the only thing we did pay for is our 2 nights stay in the hospital and parking.
@timothysmcnamara5925
@timothysmcnamara5925 Жыл бұрын
Under the old rules, if they had cut their residency, then they would need to wait 3 months to get back into the OHIP system. So medical expenses the first 3 months would be out of their own pocket. If they never cut residency, then the issue does not arise. I am not sure if the old rules (i.e. 10 years ago) still apply or not.

@@timothysmcnamara5925 Maximum 183 days in any 12 months? . Same for us in Quebec. As a nurse, this is one of the questions my Order asked when I renew my nursing license every year. Although, I remember, my in laws used to spend 3 months maximum in Florida.
@timothysmcnamara5925
@timothysmcnamara5925 Жыл бұрын
@@lourdesaspa8437 That is my understanding: you are either a resident of Canada or another place. Where you spend the 183+ days per year would normally be determinative for many purposes e.g. income tax. I heard some provinces are different on some benefits e.g. only 5 months per year are needed in Nfld to stay in their system. But I never confirmed that and, anyways, the rules can change at any time. Scammers and fraudsters put a burden on the system and eventually the result is MAID.

If you choose one of the most modern and biggest hospitals in the Philippines, you'll certainly spend a fortune. I'm pleased you're going back to Canada to give birth. Canada will give you that peace of mind and not worrying about certain aspects of child birth and yourself as a Mum. After child birth and the baby is older you can decide to return to La Union. This is what the UK vloggers did. I think most people know this. They're back now to the Philippines. Praying for your safe delivery. Take care 🙏

A good hospital in the Phillipines is just as good I am sure, but you have to feel happy about your decision, and the less stress and worry the better. If the baby was born in the Phillipines would he/she have Canadian citizenship automatically? even so, it will be good for the child for the future to be able to say they were born in Canada, perhaps for higher education etc.

The inconveniences is the problem in the Philippines and it cost money if you are not insured. You have to know people to fix problems there like for example....the simple flat tire and all medical issues. And both of you have a good profession in Canada. Too soon to go back and settle there. Save more money and think of early retirement later inbthe Philippines....just my opinion. GOOD LUCK to both of you and family.

Thanks Tommy 😊 we did what we did because we wanted to prioritize our kids. We want to control our time and be free of the rat race working Mon-Sat to keep up with our mortgage and bills. Now we can concentrate on BEING PRESENT with our precious kids. Being there for them every moment and not just couple hrs after a 12 hr shift or on weekends only. Now we are here enjoying our lives and we can deal with the inconveniences but one thing we personally can't get over when we're older would be REGRETING not making this move. If it doesn't work out then we go back home, atleast we would have learned more about our culture and will have endless memories to talk about for years. Take care 🙂

Hi Evelin the most prestige private hospitals can go up to 300 000 for c section and hospital stay as per our friend who gave birth in one of those hospitals. The private hospital in our province is around 100 000. There's many factors like my wife said she can be a stressball so she wants the same surgeon working on her who we trust and another big reason is the citizenship of our child. We wanted our child to be a Canadian citizen as it is much less complicated to travel the world vs needing visas all the time and the process of getting Canadian citizenship while in philippines through an application takes a really long time. Cheers

So a 14 minute video, and you finally get to the point after 10/11 minutes. .....just to have a baby. If any country knows about giving birth it's the Phillipines, with 105million....:-)....simple life? I dont think so! You are frtunate that you are in the top 1% of filipinos who can aspire to doing that you are doing....

Why do people always assume that rich people are "fortunate"?How about hardworking and smart enough to invest in their future? Did this family force you to watch their video? LOL.

It just occurred to me…. All filipinos should really retire in the philippines. Medical care in north america apparently is still part of Their retirement benefits. All they need to do is hop on a PAL flight non stop to north america and health care is available to them. Nice !!!

Bro you had the right tool, just not inserting it correctly. The more you spoke, it became obvious you're not mechanically inclined. Learn to change a tire! It's a basic manly skill.

Sup James for sure I know nothing about cars lol ... the fortuner after Google'ng with the security guard helping me found that we needed a connector piece to make the tool longer so we can unscrew it. My uncle who helped me had to bring the correct tool which fit and was long. But your right it is a manly skill, just been relying on CAA for many years to deal with these situations, time to learn : )
