@@KalynsCoffeeTalk for many burnout is associated to not being passionate about what they're doing causing them to tailspin. It can still happening when you love what you do but less likely and much more manageable.

The people one is hard for me. I feel like I tend to experience burnout more mentally and emotionally when I'm surrounded by people. I have a much easier time regulating my wellbeing and productivity alone. As an introvert, I enjoy being around people sometimes, but even among people I really enjoy, friends, or family, after a few hours, I begin to feel like the walls are closing in and I just need to get out.

Same here. It would be better if I am not being around people, but I still cannot relax when I am alone. And one of the things that make me feel very bad is my friends are not supporting me. They think I am annoying when I talking & sharing my feelings with them and being sad. They think I should solve problem and find happiness by myself alone. They refuse to listen or even blaming me when I told them I am sad...

The 'being-over-productive' phase happened to me my second year of college, I was drinking 5 coffees a day, not sleeping, running a lot (because it helped when being too overwhelmed), I was not eating right.. so I was basically losing weight and studying 10 hours a day without even realizing it..I had to hit pause after 3 panick attacks..and the weird part is that I was not aware of any of it, everything seemed so normal..it took me months to finally realize that those bad habits were too much for me and that my body was exahusted. Its not easy to take it slow, especially when other people force you to (my parents for instance) and I'm still working on my habits and my mindset ❤ I love the content you're creating, you are such an inspiration 💕

Kalyn, I have been watching your channels for about two years now and I have to say I believe this is your best coffee talk yet. Often times I am really into your content but I feel like you talk like me haha, where it sometimes gets hard to focus on the exact wording your saying because we go off into circles and/or talk fast. I LOVED how easy this video was for me personally to follow along with. I’m not one to usually write a youtube comments or reviews on places but I’ve loved your books , channel, podcasts, and overall vibes so I wanted to give you some positive but constructive feedback. Don’t feel like you have to take it in consideration but just wanted to let you know how much I loved how clear this “conversation” if you will, with us was. As someone with ADHD that might be a factor for why I get lost sometimes in your content, but again, just wanted to let you know I loved this. Thank you for always speaking your truth and trying to be a positive influence in this world. Shed your light always girly! We are cheering you on. Xoxo. Ps. LOVED your poetry book!

Another factor that plays in to burn out and that feeling of “not being able to turn off” is our childhood environment. If we grew up in an environment where we even subconsciously felt like we had to be hyper vigilant, on high on alert, not able to relax that carries over to adult hood. If more of our natural state as a childhood was more of a place of stress, that will fee the most comfortable and familiar as adults so stress from constantly being productive almost feels “normal” until we start to experience the symptoms. Focusing on relaxing the body, things like meditation, yoga and just checking in with yourself throughout the day can help 💜💜💜

oh my god I'm actually obsessed with you. I've been watching your videos for a few years now but have never commented or anything but this was finally it, I had to. first of all, I fucking love you. like seriously- you have done so much for me without even knowing me, it's actually insane. you always know what to say and have the most calming understanding presence. I admire your strength and strives for continued growth even though life has thrown so much at you. I appreciate your continued vulnerability and everything that you continue to share with us. seeing you, this beautiful magical person, share your struggles with your mom, eating, self-image, and spirituality, amongst other things, is the most inspiring reassuring thing I could have asked for. I look up to you so much and have for years (I almost feel like you're the big sister my soul needed) and suddenly you're this human who has been broken and faced similar struggles I have and you STILL came out to be this beautiful magical human who I was already looking up to the whole time!! you did it, so can I. thank you for continuously being brave and giving me another success story I can add to my list, making me feel slightly less crazy. I know you're still growing and working (aren't we all) but you have come so insanely far and I think you are one of the absolute coolest, wisest, most inspiring humans I have ever come across. been thinking that for a while and figured I'd finally share lol. can you only imagine what all the other silent viewers/listeners feel too?! basically summed up you're amazing, I love you, thank you thank you THANK YOU, keep rockin it ❤️

I had a lot of goals that I wanted to accomplish this year... Now because of the pandemic I have to put key goals that are connected to other goals on hold. I have been here before, working towards my goal just to have another obstacle thrown into my path. I am grateful to be alive, to have my basic needs meet, and that faith is keeping my fears at bay! This pandemic has revealed a lot about my health, work, relationships, and what I am worth in other people’s life, this society, and world. I am burnt out from my life: I have hope, I believe, I continue to mindfully work on self-development, and I serve but I repeatedly experience being used and rejection. I think I procrastinate because I am tired and because I keep having life changing events that keep turning the vision for my life into a dream (that sometimes feels like a nightmare)!

Wow, you haven't worked on that specific goal in like ages. Are you a worthy human being?" That's exhausting. But at least I'm aware of it and I wanna give myself more room to be "not productive".

i always heard things like "society wants us to be super productive" but i don't actually see this problem, only people complaining about it... productivity is not about being busy and doing stuff all the time, it's about making the most of our time, that means not only work, it depends on the kind of life we want. our time is limited and i think that is wise to TRY to use it at our best. :)

I'm studying social work (graduating in May) and burn out is a big topic for us. Social work is such a personal profession, you literally cannot do it unless you are connecting and empathizing with each person in some way. A way I like to keep my energies in check is to look at each dimension of health to determine what you need. Physically: do you need exercise, a nap, water, healthy food, etc? Mentally: do you need to read a book, to challenge yourself, to watch a funny movie, to sit in silence? Socially: do you need to go out with friends, meet new people, reach out, or stay in? Emotionally: do you need to vent, to journal, talk to someone, meditate, or just have a break? Spiritually: do you need to partake in a spiritual practice, if so, to what degree, or do you need to rest? We should be taking care of ourselves and sometimes we get so caught up in what we "should" be doing, we forget to check in with ourselves to see what we truly need. If all that is too much, just ask yourself what the kindest thing you could do for yourself right now is. Maybe it's taking a few deep breaths, taking a shower, giving yourself a hug, eating, or exercising. But we can't listen to when our bodies are telling us that weren't burnt out if we don't practice listening to them on a regular basis! 💕

There's so much positivity put on being really busy all the time and getting lots of tasks and goals done in a short amount of time, however to continuously live your life like that without a break or pause is really unhealthy and a bit negative, you have to find a balance of the two and take a break, this is something me and a few friends at different universities suffer from and then wonder after while why we can't motivate ourselves to keep going Btw love the video! Really needed this video!💕

I’m learning to be ok with doing the minimum. Im learning that not everyday has to be highly productive. Just getting it done is good enough! I’m learning to be ok with just being. Stay safe & stay home! 🙏👍❤️ Thank you for this girl. ❤️ Peace ☮️ & Love ❤️

wow that's kind of how I am feeling right now... with all of this situation with virus I feel so insecure and stuck. I feel like I'm loosing my best years sitting at home. I see all of these youtubers, celebrities and how they are living their best life, staying at some beautiful places, having great relationships, being so pretty, having this amazing body and then I compare myself, looking in the mirror and I feel so bad about myself. I feel like I'm not enough. I'm trying to look better, working out every day, taking care of my skin, but I don't see any results and it really demotivates me. I'm studying, doing my online classes, but I still feel that I am not doing enough. I am in a really bad place right now when it comes to my mind. I just don't know what to do anymore...

Watch this video was so weird. I was simply watching when you said this one phrase that enlighten me and made me realize: I'm burned out. My huge symptom is avoid texts too. And it's kind of funny thinking about it, because when I feel relaxed and calm I respond everyone normally. Thanks for the content, it helped me and i'm pretty sure that helped other people too (and will continue to). Have a great day! Kisses from Brazil!

Your eyes are so hypnotic, I think it's the lashes.... Another great talk and so what I needed to hear. Even when I'm working on music projects etc, I'm still being busy and not switching off. Life is all about balance and you continue to remind us of that so thank you!

I have been finding it so sad that people are being so negative towards the situation of the virus. Its horrible whats happening and I am kind of stuck when it comes to my college and work life but I am trying to make the best of it by doing things I was never able doing before because there was so much pressure on me from school and work.. Kind of enjoying the rest and working on myself because I litterally noticed more than half of the symptoms you said were due to burn-out.. I stopped drinking too much coffee but I still notice I am happier with coffee in my system then without, Its 23.20 pm and I just finished studying which I didnt feel motivated for at all even though it was my favourite subject and I am tired even though I am getting 9 hours of sleep every night..

After seeing this amazing transition and spiritual journey you are going through, is therapy still apart of that? I would love a therapy update video! I love seeing you so honest with yourself and finding the change you need. I have been going through an awakening and life transition and I find a lot of affirmation when watching your videos seeing someone also cry and admit thats apart of healing. I can only imagine the amount of strength/courage it takes to be that vulnerable, but I am so grateful.

I was Burt out because I forced myself to do so many things that needed concentration but I didn't concentrate. Then I looked down on myself and beat myself up for it. Lol , now I focus on what I got more talent inn. Not beating myself up because there always is tomorrow.

Love your videos beaut - I’ve had THE most productive day filming vids and I’m SO happy for it.. and it’s all bc I’m doing what I love finally rather than forcing myself to do what it isn’t right for me 🌞🌼✨💞

When you said that thing about ignoring texts being a sign of burnout, a lightbulb went off in my head. Holy crap. Also, the thing about “purpose” in particular. I hear a lot about your big “why”, but hearing this the way you explained totally made more sense. And can be applied to any task I’m completing at all. Big or small. Omg this video was a game changer. Thank you, truly! ❤️

You don't know how much I needed to see this been having comparison issues alot lately and crying alot and feeling so, uninspired today I just woke up and felt so, exhausted and this video helped me to realize yes, I am stressed because I think I should always be doing something and if I don't I get this mindset of I'm lazy and don't deserve love trying to do all of these things just because that's what successful people look like people that hustle 24 hours a day but, trying to do all of these things don't make me happy I think being productive means being happy where you are at and thank you for this video Kalyn you spoke my mind!! My blessing!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thats respect right there✊💪✨...its really hard to cut out an addiction that everyone normalizes in society ( caffeine ) since it's normal and common people make excuses to continue to do it. Plus they tell themselves "everyone does it" which keeps them to continue
