My closest to having a "Kill Dozer story". I was a Bradley mechanic for 15 yrs. And I was also a recovery operator, so I operated the wheeled and tracked recovery vehicles. The vehicle I spent the VAST majority of my time in the Army operating was the M88a1. It's a friggin beast of a machine. And during my 2nd tour in Iraq I was loaned out from 4ID to the 101st ABN. The reason was because they had gotten 13 Bradley's. But had no Bradley mechanics. So I was assigned their M88a1 and their Col would some times come down to the motor pool area and want to blow of steam. I remember him just randomly showing up one day and specifically finding me and telling me we were gonna take my M88 across the road to the other side of the FOB. So we do and he wants to drive now. I teach him quickly how to drive and from there on he's ramming brick buildings and ramming tanks and old Soviet era trucks lol. The dude literally just wanted smash shit with a tank. And the whole time he was laughing and grinning from ear to ear. I had never in my life seen a officer like this guy before. He honestly reminded me of Mel Gibson playing Col Hal Moore from We were soldiers. He was that kind of guy normally. But every once in a while the dude just needed to smash some shit to blow off steam.

Marvin was my muffler Man, he removed a clogged catalytic converter on my Ford pickup, left the shell, all the time laughing under his breath that if you were caught in Denver doing this it was a $15,000 fine.😅

I looked up the rules for existing road easements for Colorado on the Colorado Gov website. If his property had a pre-existing road easement that was the properties primary access to the property then he legally had access to use that roadway and that includes running sewer and water down it. As far as I can tell the County Permit Office lied to him and was in cahoots with the former owners.

Someone made a doc about Marvin and the dozer a few years back and it was surprisingly pro Marvin, or at least sympathetic to him. They talked extensively about how he felt and what he thought was going on. Of course they interviewed everyone else and they denied it all, but they didn’t just ignore it and make everyone look innocent and make Marvin the clear bad guy. It was surprising.

The comments about how small towns are run: 100% agree. I can't remodel my own house because the mayors brother and kid are contractors and they're the only people who can get permits. Ten separate contractors that I know of have tried and failed. Those two? Walk in, pay the fee (discounted, of course), walk out and they're starting the job as soon as their pickup hits the driveway. Crew already there waiting on them. Wouldn't be so much of a problem if it wasn't for the fact that their work totally sucks and they can get away with it because the mayor is golfing buddies with the judge who sits on every lawsuit of that type in our county.
