I really wanted the presence of the figure of Christ to be more direct, and it seems to me that I have achieved the intimacy with it. The real trial is the reception of those who come to the church with their problems and want to pray in front of it - said Wojciech Głogowski about the project “Let’s Paint Catholicism Again”.
The image of Divine Mercy has been painted anew! This extraordinarily demanding challenge, both artistically and spiritually, was faced by 10 Polish painters, who have been invited to cooperate with two institutions - the Saint John Paul II Institute of Culture of the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) and the Saint Nicholas Foundation. The paintings will now be presented to a wider audience. This is an introduction to a larger undertaking, which aims to revive religious painting.
The exhibition presents images of Merciful Jesus painted by: Jarosław Modzelewski, Ignacy Czwartos, Wincenty Czwartos, Jacek Dłużewski, Wojciech Głogowski, Jacek Hajnos OP, Krzysztof Klimek, Bogna Podbielska, Beata Stankiewicz and Artur Wąsowski.

The St. John Paul II Institute of Culture is an interdisciplinary scientific and didactic institution established at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome on the centenary of the birth of John Paul II. The mission of the Institute is to reflect on the most important problems of the contemporary Church and the world inspired by the life and thought of St. John Paul II. Thus, the Institute's aim is not only to study the achievements of the Great Pope, but also to think with him about the most important issues of spiritual culture, e.g. solidarity, mercy, Christian art, the place of the Church in the modern world or the spiritual crisis of Europe. The Institute is co-managed by the Saint Nicholas Foundation (publisher of Teologia Polityczna) and funded entirely by private donors from Poland. We warmly invite you to join their ranks!
