Very impactful message Brian! I discovered your channel a few weeks ago and love your perspectives on Faith, Fitness, Family and hearing you talk about it all. I lived in Sarasota for about 4 years (lived at Arcos downtown). Wish we could’ve trained together! I moved about 8 months ago to pursue my dream to become a Dentist (currently a grad student in Boston). I also connected here since I used to play baseball as well (was a pitcher at Lake Brantley High School/graduated in 2013). I’m thankful God brought me to your channel and I’m excited to learn & grow more, and support your growth as well 👍🏻 We gotta get a workout in sometime down the line. I don’t remember what video was it but one of your videos made me realize how lonely my life has been ever since. The way you explained what god means to you, I miss it so much I’ve realized. Don’t know if I can believe in a god ever again, but you made me wish I could. I’ve been feeling aimless, purposless and empty and I never thought a youtube fitness video would push me to question many of my values and why I’m not actually happy.

Came for the fitness vids, but stayed for your insistent/consistent testimony of the interdependence of physical and spiritual health. But then, now, THIS!: ... @ 14:40, your comment re "fine-tuning" struck me as a lightning bolt, confirming my suspicion that you are a student not only of the "fine-tuning constant" (1/137 - yes?!), but also the myriad other physical constants in Nature - across the disciplines of physics, cosmology, chemistry, biology - that lead one to discover and contemplate Divine Genius. (You even insinuated an awareness of the bewildering genius of the quaternary ACTG information code of DNA - and hinted that it truly takes more blind faith to believe that such a phenomenon was a random accident of chance.) I was raised in faith, left it, and now am trying to navigate a re-discovery. That brings me to this question: You speak of the conviction of your BELIEF in God; I'm trying to understand my experience with discovering a KNOWLEDGE of God, which is honestly overwhelming me - and how, or if, that is okay as a foundation of faith, why or why not, etc.. With all the teachings of my youth that I dismissed, am now having some sense of a love for a God of extraordinary gifts, that presents himself not in a realm of subjectivity, but by way of a very powerful, concrete encounter with objective revelation ... that Faith and Reason are not mutually exclusive, but possibly also interdependent in His utterly breathtaking Design. This is what I think I'm hearing Him say: "I am here. If you enable and use the gifts of intellect and curiosity I've bestowed, it will be impossible for you to miss me. Just heed the marvels that I have surrounded you with. I am right there. You will see me. I am with you." It is echoed in how you said to not begrudge yourself for how you are, or the differences among all individuals. This is how I am, and maybe the way He orchestrated for me to ... "get there". I could go on. Won't choke your comment section. But trying to understand the validity, maybe the miracle, of the path I've stumbled upon.

Could you do a video on metal health maybe,how you would look at it. I mean, possible guidelines? I mean having a relationship with God is important. But how people view you or you think they view you if you lost your job and how to keep on going.Or still staying at your parents, doing your bit to create your way still.But getting set backs job wise, how to stay strong.And not disconnect with others. Hey Brian! First of all I’d like to thank you for your work. You’re setting an example and I really appreciate that. For a while now I’ve been thinking a lot about the role of self-development, growth and character formation in my life as a Christian. Living a healthy and active life, where I continually push myself has enhanced my quality of life a lot. Yet within Christian churches/communities I rarely see people living an abundant and healthy lifestyle (in fact quite the opposite). Every now and then I hear Christians say “that the way of Christian life isn’t about stacking up habits etc. but about being filled anew with external source.” Also That living a disciplined life style is only a means to an end (which I can somewhat understand). Sometimes it seems to me as if being active, disciplined, productive on my own somehow just has a minor role to play in my life as a Christian (according to some people). This confused me a bit. Comparing two concepts: There are non-believers, like e.g David Goggins who lead a very disciplined & active life, yet seem pretty focused on self - “running life in a hamster reel”. Their (I can’t speak for everyone - thinking of Goggins here) whole philosophy of life isn’t primarily on the basis of other-centered love that would change people’s hearts but rather in orienting towards certain stoic values. Trying to preserve a life that is actually destined to die. The focus is self, which is contrary to the Christian way of living. Then there’re Christians who lead a very spiritual and christ-centered life, yet don't seem to "thrive" & life up to their full potential when it comes to their everyday life/lifestyle. My question comes basically down to this: Active vs passive life? How do you connect these two aspects? How do you make sure that prayer/devotion is the main thing that guides your life and not just one aspect among others? What ultimately makes someone spiritual? What are also the dangers and boundaries of self-development/self-help? What difference did/does your faith in God make in your life despite living a well & active life? What are the crucial elements that set you as a believer apart from any other person that leads a stoic, healthy and disciplined lifestyle? Does Stoicism and Christianity coexist or do they contradict each other? What does it mean to be and live as a follower of Jesus for you personally? I apologize for the long paragraph & hope it makes sense 😅 I’d love to hear your thoughts on this! Thank you so much 🙏🏽 God bless you!
