Married couple ...the wife ...she is so terrific at delivering her lines 👏 one of most important cast members 👏 🎰🎭

I wonder if this movie was originally written as a play, it always feels like a stage play to me. It relies on great acting and dialogue, very few characters, simple scenery (being set mostly in an ordinary home). It would function well on stage.

Wow, you explained the problem for me EXACTLY. I saw this movie and couldn't quite figure out what was just a bit odd about it. I loved this movie and it's one of the funniest Xmas movies I've seen. But when watching it, I felt like the setting looked strange and then WHAM! Your comment told me exactly what I was trying to figure out! I felt like I was supposed to be watching them and Denis Leary do this live on a stage. I bet it would be more fun to see it that way.

@@penguin44ca they make him out to be the asshole but it turns out he has a really good reason to feel the way he does. His wife and his mother fucked him up and in turn he took out his stress on his son. which when you look at it he isnt the worst father in the world.

This is one of my favourite scenes in all of cinema because it's so much like my Mum and Dad at night, after 9pm, following a few drinks... and yes, they stayed together till death did them part.

Best Christmas movie ever....as a kid watched it every year with my parents...loved it. Kevin Spacey still to me is one of the greatest actors of our time.

Yearly movie. Also this was a delayed release and came out in April.
