And thanks to his year of efficiency and stellar stock performance, he's now a Wall Street darling, with Meta outperforming Apple and Alphabet, trailing only Nvidia among the Mag 7. But Meta's latest earnings report has shown it's continuing to bleed cash, and Zuckerberg is now facing a moment of truth. In relation to all others you mentioned, never had any one of those, some (Snapchat) I don’t even know what they are. Netflix, KZfaq and others are in the business of streaming content, Meta, TikTok and others are in the business of manipulating minds..

Lol not really. I’ve used MySpace, Friendster & other social media web apps before Facebook. I also work in software development. Facebook was that one app that got lucky & was there when we slowly transitioned from web apps to mobile apps. The time when almost everyone has a mobile phone, including those that cannot even afford to pay rent but will still try to get a smart phone. Facebook is no longer able to manage its audience. But most big tech companies now also have the same problem. We’re all giving these companies our data, not just Facebook.

For one, Meta and TikTok influence streaming content and its creators, which goes back to you. More importantly, all entertainment is created and served through biases. From movies to TV shows, to the news. They all have biases that do have an effect on your mind. I do agree that Meta and TikTok are more dangerous but let's not pretend that streaming content isn't lacking any danger. After all, streaming content also uses similar algorithms.

I don't know how many times now that youtubers make videos about specific topics, then CNBC and other mainstream media networks make a video about it a week or a month later. With the way this keeps on happening, I can guarantee that a whole industry is going to be made obsolete by some random people with a good phone and a laptop in their homes who can make far better and more entertaining videos on these topics.

I still don't get the hype around Meta. Their existing platforms are going to generate profits for years, if not decades, to come. But innovation? VR is never going to be as big as he thinks, and every other decision that he ever made is completely reactionary. He sees a popular trend (like AI now), shifts the company's focus to it, stock price goes up because investors are gullible and love hype, and then after a few years the hype dies down, and there's yet again no practical results to show for it. But by then, the investors get all feathered up by the next trend so the stock goes up again, despite the fact that the company didn't do anything except blow a few billion dollars on nothing. That's basically how Meta is run, no innovation, nothing real. The only product improvements Meta has come up with since the News Feed are those that they copy/pasted from other companies or just outright bought.
