Join me in this restart of the series where I attempt to complete all the achievements in Oxygen Not Included! In this episode, we'll start a brand new colony and begin our journey towards achieving our goals in ONI. Let's see how far we can get in this achievement run!

Your mic quality got better and with the videos you provided I learned alot your probably the first who implemented an early carnivore achievement run, with the video your sharing to us I accomplished the carnivore with no issues keep up the good work hope I learn more tips and tricks with you (I'd be surprised if you made a 500 cycle run in one video with all achievements done)

I'm happy to hear the videos have been helpful. 500 cycles sounds like a good goal to shoot for. Thanks for the comment!

Nice videos, great timing on the speech with the animated short xD great work Great idea with the restart, it's more relatable this way anyway. For beginner, maybe even recommend to use the same seed. A few comment, if i may. Please don't take it the wrong way, i just want to participate. 3:30 You really don't need any downtime when starting. You have the starting buff, then a constant stream of new friend buff but MORE IMPORTANTLY you have 0 MORAL REQUIREMENT xD even after you only 2 morale over to max out on stress reduction (which you don't really need on normal difficulty anyway). Later on, the bathroom break after waking up is useful to prevent long commute but early on, when everything is near, it's wasting labor. 4:00 You have desinfect ticked. It's a pain to untick every game start ... 5:00 The hatch may eat the nutrient bar that way. You have a rancher to move it. Not a big deal on normal difficulty thou. 10:00 good to see the timers :) but yeah, they are a pain. Also you can still make them pair right next to each other instead of making the rancher do parkour all over, poor guy. It's the same amount of material i think, but i confess the vertical pairing design is super NEAT. Maybe it's ok with 2 ranchers, we will see. 17:00 I usually put either 2 reservoir to prevent problem on the sieve (power or sand) to clog the bathroom. It's over kill but i still do it. 17:40 It didn't needed the FARM 1 to get get the RANCH 2 i think. But you can't undo it now, and can't even fix it with scrub :( (it will scrub the bonus point and you will have to put the farm1 point then) Thanks for the video, keep it up, great start !

I have watched a lot of Oni videos and have over 600 hours of game time. I've never finished a play-through, lol It's okay I like always trying to do better and your videos are very helpful and detailed with the overlays. one of the better ones for sure. I like to play along but have my own things I like to do so are basses don't turn out quite the same. By your episode 4, I had an automated coal generation setup with a mushroom farm underneath. I also like to do transformers down one side of my base with each level having its own dedicated transformer just to make things look nice. back to the drawing board. keep up the good work.

Haha, 600 hours and still no finish? Me too! I'm still working on my first full achievement run playthrough as there are several I don't have yet.

Liking your series, and the dropper Hatch ranches almost make me want to give up my vertical ranches. I keep them on an island at the top of a sweeper width shaft and then set up coal power on floors below and then mushrooms at the bottom with slime fed from a room below. On the last run you glossed completely over the nature reserve until after you already had pips going. It looks like you picked a spot already this time but you might want to mention you're saving some natural tiles ahead of time and then at least run through pip basics when you get there. I like to try and plan around a starting cluster of plants but the only good one you had this map was in the way of your ranch stack. Nice work though keep it up!

Thanks a lot! TBH I'm still trying to figure out how best to structure each episode as they are quite different from a tutorial. I'll definitely take your advice into consideration for future episodes.

@@engineertroy_ good to hear that! your organization skills are superb for initial base, I don't remember how many times I restarted my base just because stuff got out track. would love to see an entire critter area. Also if you can maybe focus (later) on how to keep many critters sustainable in base, that would be awesome!

It does get a bit messy after a while. Sometimes a restart is easier than sorting it all out lol. Going to be adding a drecko ranch to the critter area soon!

I love your ranch setup! you have me keen to have another go at ONI!! As far as the incubators work... can you use filter gates instead? say, timer sensor for 75 seconds to trigger the first pair then a filter gate set at 75 seconds and a buffer gate set to 75 seconds to trigger the next pair and chain that logic along?
@engineertroy_

Yes, that should work! It would almost double the refined metal necessary for the control circuit though.

Hey! First time viewer, long time Challenge Run [ #ChallengeRun tag follower ] addict. Just friendly advice; you may want to rename this to episode 1, I almost left thinking this was mid series and I would have missed the best part of any ONI run, the first 20 cycle panic build. I’m 2mins in, back to the video 🥳

Oh! It seems you’re missing the tag “#ChallengeRun”, in youtube studio there’s a tag section which recommends your video to a huge audience based on those who watch challenge videos (such as achievement runs)

So you're speaking while playing and recording and cutting it up after? You seem to be doing a nice job at it, although you seem to run into the same "issue" I encountered where it feels a bit "cramped" and there's no time to breathe. I've done some YT videos (most recently on another channel related to programming) and I found it VERY hard to decide what to cut and what not to cut, and how frequently to cut and how much space to leave between cuts. I can't wait to see future videos and see what you end up doing.

My favorite part is the editing but that is usually what takes the longest! I can totally relate as Im my own biggest critic, especially after posting. But perfection is an illusion as there’s always something that could’ve been better. I find comfort in doing my best to learn from my mistakes and committing to make the next one a little bit better!
