Interestingly for a single handed backhand player, Dimitrov plays better on hard and fast courts than clay. Proof of this is the fact he has made the semifinals of all grand slams except Roland Garros. Why is this? Unlike many, he uses the slice a lot more than any other player on the top 50, mainly because that shot is magnificent. The slice is less efective on high bouncing surfaces. So this is why we havent seen any spectacular result on the clay season, but I would bet for a great 2024 grass and hard court season.

True. He played some great matches on clay as well this season but i doubt he can make it into FO semifinals.

I can’t decide who’s the biggest underachiever shapo or grigor lol. Grigor went titleless from 2017-2024 that’s insane 🤯

Shapo is still young so we don’t know but if he doesn’t get his act together, he will claim this title. He’s only won one title and that was in 2019 so it’ll be 5 years for him soon … Grigor was never so disinterested in tennis for such a long time. He also had injuries in 2019 that derailed him and then long covid so 2019-22 was tough period for him physically but he kept trying. Feels like Shapo throws away matches when he gets frustrated and lacks discipline on a much higher level than Grigor has ever showed.
