Disney Branded Television Executive, Meredith Roberts has teased a brand new Gravity Falls revival in an interview with The Direct, revealing that Disney is currently in talks with series creator Alex Hirsch about creating a new animated Gravity Falls project following the Book of Bill Cipher! Would this be the long awaited Gravity Falls season 3, a movie or something else entirely? Let's talk about it!

Hirsch once mentioned that he keeps certain things close to his chest in case he wants to use them in the future. It happened with Bill's backstory that will now be a book, and he mentioned wanting to explore Stan and Ford's sea adventures. If we get a continuation (which I doubt) I think it'll be that.

Maybe like, it takes place years later, and as the years went bye, the weirdness bubble has spread across all of Oregon, causing strange things to happen all across the state, leading the caste, to return back to Gravity Falls, in search of what could be spreading weirdness. Gravity Falls does not need a revival, it ended on an awesome note. A revival would destroy the ending of its finale. Though a spin-off can happen.

Honestly my opinion is that it wrapped up in a satisfying way, and it didn’t overstay its welcome. I love the show, but I’m perfectly happy with how it ended.

Maybe it'll be a reboot, with more creatove freedom such as having lgbtq relationships and more horror, maybe even a disney plus retelling in pg-13 to accompany the book of bill, it will also allow the show to have its finale get a longer runtime and have all the goodbyes to the characters.

Don't get me wrong, when I first watched the show I would have definitely enjoyed another season, but as time passed I have really come to appreciate what an amazing job Alex Hirsch did with the show. It endet perfectly, and it even left some questions, which was great for the fandom because there was room for fan theories.

The "Bill's return" Crossover with Amphibia and The Owl House in a grown up setting has so much potential. I would love to have a movie or movie series for that. The setting: Bill is somehow returning and breaking the borders between worlds and all the Heros of Amphibia and Owl House have to gather to save their world. It would be perfect to not destroy existing storys but give them more depth. Serve the fandom and maybe open up a whole new universe for disney to produce content for.

Bill Cipher comes back and the Gravity Falls gang get Ford to open the portal again and recruit people from other dimensions to stop Bill and they go to the boiling isles and then at the end of the Amphibia book the girl who helped them get back to Amphibia called Anne and said she had good news and that news is she found a portal in Gravity Falls. Anne, Sasha and Marcy then all go back to Amphibia where Bill is Wierdmaggedoning the place because Maddie made a deal with him to increase her magical powers. Amphibia characters fight back and are joined by the Owl House and Gravity Falls characters through the new portal door from the end of The Owl House. They all team up to fight Bill and Dipper, Mabel, Soos, the Stans and Wendy are weilding all the classic gadgets from Gravity Falls like the Size-Changing Torch and the Blind Eye Ray etc.

I feel like another thing that would encourage Disney to make more Gravity falls would be the dumpster fire that came out of canceling The Owl House. With them realizing that, shocked Pikachu face, TOH was extremely popular and a huge money maker. With Gravity Falls also being a soft horror series, it's the perfect alternative to admitting they were wrong about TOH

It ended perfectly, but you can still go in directions with Gravity Falls. Follow Ford and Stanley’s adventures, Dipper and Mabel’s second summer in town, not something big like Bill, but still some fun monster of the week with and overarching mystery. Maybe with Bill defeated, weirdness is spreading out of town?

I don’t think gravity falls needs a revival. It had a begining middle and end. Unless Alex is behind this. I feel like the finale is pretty conclusive. Disney’s energy would be better focused on giving more to things like owl house or amphibia. I don’t really know where you could go as gravity falls tied up most of its loose ends.

I think the best way to set it up would be a funeral for Stan. It would be a great and easy way to bring everyone together and give a simple reason for everyone to talk about what they have been up to while introducing potentially new characters. Dipper can get introduced to any new weird incidents and Mabel will gush over relationships and kids that formed while they were gone. It would also to set them up with a potential job. At the end have it revealed that the funeral was just a fake so that Stan can get out of some trouble he got himself into either with a government, crime syndicate, or supernatural group.

I wouldn’t want a full on revival, but a special event. A limited time series that gives us a glimpse back into the world. Something like distant lands or steven universe future. A timeskip, a darker plot.

Frankly, Star Vs. The Forces Of Evil should be the only Disney series to get some sort of revival special or mini-series of sorts because it's still a very divisive finale that I can see being expanded due to how open-ended it was. Yet, oddly, I'm a bit nervous on how it would turn out since I'm currently doing a fanfic continuation of it myself (that happens to also have some crossovers), so...I'm in a bit of a crossroads on this.

If it was me, I would have dipper (now in his 20's) working on remaking the journals while finding new things on top of that, Mabel would show up with either Her niece/nephew or cousins from another part of the family (could be from the non pines half of their family or another pines family member who was a bit older and didn't need babysitting) You can have Mabel playing the more stan like side while dipper is closer to ford, soos can be the guy running the mystery shack and be himself, but older a bit more mature and smarter, potentially with kids. (adding that from this video cause its a cool concept) the other characters can be in or out on their own time. edit when I said Mabel would be with her niece/nephew I don't mean they are dippers kids I mean they are dipper/Mabel's cousins kids.

I would be so happy if Bill returned with his "Different form" from his final message to Stan. Although I love how Garvity Falls ending was perfect and it should stay that way, its nice to enter the woods once again, especially when The Book of Bill is one month away from its release, (I wouldn't be surprised if the Human Bill fans are rising from their graves as we speak)

Unpopular Opinion: But I honestly don't think there's a need for a Gravity Falls sequel/revival. It ended perfectly on season 2; at this point, I'm afraid of anything getting a sequel because sometimes a sequel is either a hit or a miss. Maybe some things don't need sequels. Edit: Yeah I'm looking at you Nevermind vs. The Doo-Doo Syndicate & Megamind Drools, as well as KFP4. Maybe it reboots into an edgier retelling with all the deleted episodes and scenes, lgbtq relationships, and a longer length finale to give all the planned goodbyes. It would also lay the groundwork for a future owl house reboot years down the line so it can have a full season 3 and end on the note that it was planned to.

I think gravity falls can be set when the twins are 15 and deal with high school and puberty jokes or them as 18 and with their whole lives ahead of them and how scary that feels, maybe do a riff off of their gruncles, with dipper going to college and Mabel starting her own crafts shop or the other way around, Mabel goes to college while dipper goes of to find mysteries Or who knows, the mystery twins are back

There are only 2 things that I know Alex is interested in making that is Gravity Falls related. In a recent interview he said that when they were making the Lost Legends book, he thought up a small series of Stan and Ford sea adventures that could become a book series, and in an interview a few years back he said that he was interested in creating a full blown Gravity Falls video game but be more involved in it then the first one (Legends of the Gnome Gemulets). I don't want a season 3 or a movie, in my opinion there's nothing left to do without taking a few steps back. But I would actually love to see these 2 things come out!

I always though it would be cool if bill came back but like how he was when he started out as a god of chaos and got his own series where he had to work with random background characters to regain enough power to leave, all while avoiding the pines! Imagine the chaos!

This show WAS MY CHILDHOOD! I loved it. From the funny jokes and terrifying ghosts, this show didn't stop to think to not do something crazy and I love that, one episode it could be the twins breaking into a store another episode it could be fighting every horror possible. And I loved it. I would sell everything I had to get another season of gravity falls.

I knew it! I knew that a Phineas and Ferb revival would lead to a Gravity Falls one! And this is only the beginning. In time the same shall happen to The Owl House and Amphibia as well! And maybe after Secret Wars releases they’ll make a parody with all our favorite Disney cartoons in one big beautiful crossover! Well, here’s my pitch for this revival. Alex Hirsch posted a few years ago that McGucket becomes President in 2016. They could do something with that and have the kids becoming 15 anc entering High School. Also, Dipcifica is a must.

Also considering how bill was in that comic I think it would show how many years passed bill was slowly becoming more mad at the pines family after his defeat and getting even more ready for revenge so of course he would do something like that and something tells me technically him killing a baby isn't really new considering his whole dimension to the ground and there might have been babies that child's age in the dimension when it burned down so yeah technically forcing someone else to kill a baby but in a way it would really be him that was killing that baby wouldn't really be new for him but that would still be pretty messed up

Keep in mind, it's Disney asking Alex. Alex has said he isn't too inclined to continue gravety falls unless he can come up with a sayisfying sequel, which he hasn't yet. He has said he's content with leaving gravity falls with it's current ending.

I quite like where it ended for Dipper and Mabel, but I'd be really excited for a spinoff with the original Pines twins. It could be about where their adventures take them post-Gravity Falls (as we saw in the Stan O War II) or if we got a few episodes on what their lives were like while they were apart. Journal 3 highlights this and so does the show, but as you mentioned, there are a lot of details missing in between that could make for some fun adventures.

it would be sick as hell to see the twins in the future, both sets! there’s so many fan comics that have the younger pines twins or their kids visit Gravity Falls 10 or so years in the future, so a sequel series in 2026 would be accurate too. oh how i’d kill to see Wendy at 27 with a scuffed pine tree hat and Dipper at 23 with Wendy’s hat on his head

My guess is either a mature sequel series, a potential movie, or, and it's a BIG IF, an animated adaptation of the Lost Legends comic. Those are the options I can think of.

I wish the epilogue series would not be a 5 year jump but a 10 year jump where Dipper and Mabel are turning 23 and graduating from college and now having to face the struggles of being "unemployed" and actually experiencing "adulting" first hand.
