The Return of Martin Janecky | Guest Artist Demonstration

For the first time in nearly 4 years, the Corning Museum of Glass welcomes master glassmaker Martin Janecký as a guest artist to our Amphitheater Hot Shop for a narrated, demonstration. Janecký is known for his blown figurative glass sculptures, which he creates by sculpting in great detail from inside the bubble.

Martin Janecký began working with glass at the age of thirteen at his father's factory in the Czech Republic. After graduating from the Glass School in Nový Bor, he continued working in glass in South Africa, Sweden, the Netherlands, and the US, where he studied at the Pilchuck Glass School under Richard Royal and William Morris.
Janecký has been a visiting artist and instructor at various glass programs all over the world, including The Studio at The Corning Museum of Glass, Pilchuck Glass School, Penland School of Craft, and the University of Toyama. Among his most recognized strengths is his mastery of the glass molding technology of so-called inside bubble sculpting, a technique he uses to create remarkable works of art. In 2019 he set up Janecký Studio in Prague. Janecký is considered to be one of the best glass sculptors working today, and his artwork has been exhibited in galleries and museums across the globe.

I would love to watch the rest of this video but the ads are absolutely disgusting. Every 7-9mins and twice as loud as the show. It's super unfortunate.

You're doing a great job, except for the poor sound. The lack of sound from the tools and the artist and the crew devalue the videos very much. I really recommend an open mike near the workspace.
