We spend a day with the Guardian Angels, a second-wave resurgence of the 70's crime fighting group that says it's back protecting the streets and subways of New York City after a series of slashings earlier this year.

III%ers tried the same thing at the BLM standoff, but people dismissed them as crazy gun owners. The thing is, most people in America are good people, wanting to protect people's rights, no matter if that oppression comes from government, or other crazed individuals. I dream of a day when those people hold a united voice, instead of stay in the shadows while the small percentage takes the news daily, with their fear.

🌟 Standing up for what’s right and showing compassion takes real courage, and that’s what true heroism is all about. It’s not about targeting those who are different; it’s about being an ally to them and showing care in their time of need. 🌈 It’s disappointing to see organizations like the NYC Guardian Angels not living up to these principles. Instead of spreading kindness and compassion, they seem to prioritize bullying and fear.

***** It depends. It's like anything, when you have a large group like Police forces, military, government, you name it, there will always be sinister members. It's just life, you can't really stop that from happening, but that doesn't mean the majority of police and such are bad people. Sometimes even the good people are caught in a situation where they realize the people around them are a bad influence.
@megamiazga
@megamiazga 8 жыл бұрын
DarkSideSixOfficial That's not what I',m trying to say. I'm not judging individuals, but the police institution as a whole - it was never meant to protect the common people, but those who created it - the elites. Police exist to uphold the law created in the interests of those who wrote it. The Guardian Angels are volunteers and a grassroots initiative to protect others. That's the difference.

That was both our policy and prudent on our part. 2- If we were to get involved it would most certainly bode ill for the Angels. Police had far better training and a better understanding of things related to crime. Now with that said, did other "chapters" of the G.A. act against Police Brute force????

Man, I remember my buddies dad was a chapter leader that ran his own Guardian Angel group in Modesto CA. I think I was 18-19 when I joined his chapter. We did walks all over town and little by little we became somewhat well known in the area. We started to get calls asking to come and protect parties, gatherings, birthdays etc. You name it, we did it. One day we get a call asking to protect a funeral for a teen who had been shot. (Believed to be gang related) Unfortunetly it was mistaken identity. It was one of the scariest time as a G.A. The funeral was held in East Oakland CA. We had no weapons, no nothing! Luckily we only had minor to no issues, but it could have easily gone south if the rival gang would have shown up. We risked our lives that night to keep the family safe. As a previous Guardian Angel, I honor those who are still strolling the streets and putting their lives at risk to keep people safe! Thank you.

They are amazing. Mad respect to this organization. People ask why when there’s cops and here’s the benefits of them. 1.) No taxes, no cost (entirely free service) you can call them and request them to patrol your community. 2.) They are trained in citizens arrest and self defense. 3.) They are unarmed and pose no physical threat to the public. 4.) They help enhance law enforcement by increasing the amount of crimes reported for police to handle. 5.) They are essentially a free unarmed security service that anyone who feels unsafe can call. Police: - Costs money via taxes - Won’t patrol an area that you ask them to, they work under the command of their department not you. - They won’t watch over your neighborhood, they’ll likely be looking for an ordnance or infraction to enforce. + Good however to call after a crime is committed. If a crime isn’t committed, they won’t do anything.

blex autler Ever heard of the Columbine school shooting? There was a police officer assigned to the school and on duty at the time. He did nothing. It's actually extremely rare for police to protect civilians in an active shooter situation. The best you can hope for is that they return fire trying to protect themselves and don't hit any civilians in crossfire. However, in most active shooter situations the cops turn up too late anyway and just file their police reports.

And I asked my Mother (God Rest her Soul) "Who is that Man with the Red Jacket with the Wings" and she "That's a Guardian Angel" That Image was Locked inside a vault in my Head until Now.

In 2011, when I visited NY and took a city tour, the lady guide, who was kinda like a hippie, narrated how the city was more dangerous back in the 80's, 90's, and that there were a lot of muggings and street gangs. According to her, Mayor Guilliani cleaned up the city of crime and NY was much safer. This is true, as I felt very safe during my trip over there in 2011. Cops everywhere and even Time Square was cleaned up already at the time. The only crazy thing that the lady guide told us was that she missed the old edgier and dangerous NY because she thinks the new and safer one was boring. Wow.

It was a place to see and meet hustlers, weirdos, various gypsies and fringe social elements. Not so bad. But places like that always eventually bring criminals, homeless, mentally-lll and finally/essentially dangerous people. Dude, on Disney rides people like to be NEAR danger. On Pirates of the Carribbean the canon balls fall next to your boat. Poeple love it. If the cannon ball actually hits your boat? You are upset and may be hurt.

In Chicago they don't slash, they shoot. To really be a match for the gangs they would have to be armed and the police would never allow that. A single thug with an extended clip handgun would take an entire patrol out in one go, and wouldn't think twice about it. Multiple individuals from a gang...it would be a night of target practice, they would be lambs to the slaughter. However you spin it, it's not doable. I used to live in Chicago btw.
