The guy who dove out the window was frigging PRICELESS that mid air shot was great lol the 70,80s and 90s had the best stunts and movies. Ron O'Neal will always be SUPERFLY and Richard Roundtree will always be SHAFT. YOU DIG IT! 😎

Everybody hated on the movie because Ron O'Neal wasn't in it. At the time of this movie Ron was in his 50s. I guess they didn't want Superfly to be some old guy. If you can get pass that, the movie is not bad.

Here's a fun fact. Back in the old days. The cars had locks on the glove box. The cops had to get a search warrant to look into your glove box. THAT is why todays cars DON'T HAVE Locks on the Glove box. IF you have a CLASSIC 70's / 80's car? AND, it has a Lock on the Glove Box? The LEO's STILL have to get a search warrant.

Older cars also had built in cigarette lighters and ash trays in front and back seat as well. I remember not even having seat belts,but my dad always cut them out too with his pocketknife😂

People snubbing their nose at this movie on IMDb but it's evoctaive, super street scenes and a great Maine Line reference, and Leonard Thomas (Joey) is a brilliant actor who bounced this film along, with Curtis Mayfield Eazy E ToneLoc led soundtrack. Lush... hank you for posting.

Without it, it wouldn't be Superfly. That's the part right there. Curtis Mayfield"s sound track is the biggest reason why the original movie was a huge success.

This movie wasn't great but it was ok. They didn't try to overdo it just to make it sell like most remakes or spin-offs and they did have an old school player in it, Samuel Jackson which attracted me to this movie , otherwise, I wouldn't have watched it.

WOW!!!!!!!! I vaguely remember the original Superfly - Priest dipping his necklace/crucifix in the coke, getting laid in the bathtub - this flick was much better but boy oh boy the violence! This bears out what they say about the world of drugs is VERY violent!!!!! Anyway worth a watch.

Ron O’Neal was in Superfly 2 produced not too long after the original. This movie is independent of that and was produced as part of the summer of 13. The summer there were 13 African American movies in the late 80s & early 90s

Well, I am only five minutes into this movie...and I had to force myself to get this far...and I am about as disappointed as F#@K. I guess it is because the original "Superfly" with the incredible performance of Ron O'Neil, (perfection from JUMP), along with the brilliant and PERFECT soundtrack of the immortal Curtis Mayfield was unsurpassed. And the fact that the original "Superfly" just GRABBED you from the start with the REALITY of the storyline did it for me.
