I met a small group of these dogs on a farm. The main dog was like a mule, big, and looked at me in the eyes when I sat on the lounge. BIG dog.

Correction That Breed is not South African. It's from Rhodesia which is now the Modern Day Zimbabwe

She never said it was specifically a South African dog, she said it was the National dog of South Africa! You need to get your own facts straight. Even a quick Google will make you understand you are wrong. It is called a "Rodesian" but has it's origins in Southern Africa! Southern Africa includes Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe (Previously known as Rodesia), Botswana and Mozambique and a few others.

I had a mix named Blue, she never got tired and even after hours of running and playing in the hot desert she would never drink water, only when we finally got home after an outing would she drink.

I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix and he is amazing! Absolutely gorgeous dogs! He is quite, smart, and an amazing family dog! He loves to hunt and isnt scared of anything. His name is Timber

They need to cross these into modern Boerbels as they have been bred to be overly muscled, too heavy bone and no agility or endurance. Maybe blend a little gamebred Pit Bulldog but you’ll have to be careful and remove the dog aggression. A few generations and the Boerbel (or whatever you wished to call it) should be a proper dog again.

I’m glad they’re not popular outside of a select group of dedicated people because they’re definitely too much dog for your average person to handle. (Great working breed but much like a cane corso or pressa they need owners who are capable)

My brother had a half ridgeback and didnt know until he was grown. That dog was damn near untrainable. A man from the country who trained dogs for 30+ years said 'that dog'd face ya' and thats all we needed to know

I think the insinuation is implied in her description of the breed as a whole, in general.... 🤡....it even showed a depiction of multiple dogs, a pack, holding a lion at bay.....

@Standing_on_the_word The key words are keep it at bay. And as you could see in the picture they work in groups. They can't just kill a lion, but they can distract it long enough for their handler to come and take care of it.
