Okay, so I'm a huge fan of Ricky, Steve, and Karl and have been so for a long time. There was something that happened during a book signing I attended that made me wonder about Karl, and I want to know if anyone else here attended that signing and can corroborate. I believed Karl was genuine and not a character but this really made me question that. I went to a book signing two years ago in White City for More Moaning. I think it was a Saturday but it could have been a Sunday too, all I know is it wasn't a weekday because I distinctly remember Westfield London being packed. It didn't start until 1 but I showed up an hour or so early to get to the front of the line. I was a bit surprised to see there weren't many people there specifically for the signing, but I really didn't mind. Less people meant more time with Karl. I planned to ask him about the mate he used to go to school with that lives in a hole as that story always left me wanting more information. I was third or so in line, but Karl didn't show up on time. We all waited an additional half hour or so, and some people started to leave after that. I stayed, along with a couple others, but most left. It had been an hour now. I was in the front of the line now and thought I'd ask one of the people who set up what was going on. They said Karl was apparently acting up because they didn't have the food he was promised. One of the crew was out getting it now. I was a bit taken back because, although Karl likes to moan, I can't imagine he'd refuse to meet fans because they didn't have food. I was let down but I decided to stick around. It was 10 minutes or so that one of the catering crew came back with a bag of what I assumed was the food. He goes back behind the curtain, and suddenly we all hear a bit of screaming. It sounds like Karl is going mental at this employee. For the first time, we finally see Karl step out, and I will say, he's a lot shorter than I expected. Anyway, he's running out with the food bag, it's open and spilling everywhere. Nuts are now covering the ground. As he's running, I catch a glimpse of something coming out of his trousers. It looks like a tail! Turns out Karl is a little monkey fella. We all left and I checked online the next day to see if anyone else saw what I saw. All the websites said the signing was cancelled for unknown reasons. Weird, innit?

Heads up when you start season 3. For the first episode of season 3 do not skip the intro. It has a funny bonus gag in it.

Here's the thing about the dodo. Karl was correct when he said they _didn't_ taste nice. Yes, the Dutch settlers did eat them, but the birds were more often given to the animals the Dutch brought with them. Before the Dutch arrival in Mauritius in the late 16th Century, the dodo had no predators. This meant two things: 1) They evolved in such a comfortable way that they only laid one egg, as opposed to other bird species that lay multiple eggs as the safeguard against losing all their young. And 2) when the Dutch made loud noises, like firing guns, the dodos all got curious and headed towards the men firing the guns. The men then killed a whole bunch with guns and sticks. It took about 60-65 years after their discovery for dodos to become extinct.

There's an interview with Ricky and Karl that is like a Mr and Mrs style interview and its amazing - highly recommend to watch, it should be the top suggestion if search Ricky and Karl Interview on youtube :)

Possible suggestion - when you're done with these you could go and listen to all of the XFM radio shows. The only thing is they are about 1 1/2 hours long each and you might not get all the references. They are a lot less professional but still great and I haven't seen anybody else doing them and I think they don't get flagged under any copyright notices.

The thing that got me for a long while, is flash memory, I understand CD/DVDs as they are setup like the records with pits and bumps, but the flash memory is solid state so I didnt understand how they stored information, I do now because of Google but technology still amazes me sometimes, although where would we be without Google, if they suddenly said stuff it and shut it down the world would collapse.

Karl was right about the dodo not tasting nice, but wrong about most everything else. The dodo died because it had no natural predators, so when humans with guns arrived in Madagascar and made loud noises, the dodos, rather than flee in fear, went in the direction of the noises. And humans, being assholes, killed them till they were all gone.

People who have had long hair even until their old age often say the opposite. Don't use shampoo every time you take a shower. Sure, wash your hair with lukewarm water, not warm because that'll get rid of the natural oils and not cold because that damages the strands, but don't shampoo too frequently. Maybe once every week or every fortnight. Of course genetics play a role, particularly male-specific genetic disorders like male pattern baldness, but if you can just blame genetics even if you haven't taken care of your hair and you might not necessarily have that allele whether or not you've had your genome analyzed.
